Program for WIFI

Does anybody have any idea where to find a program that shows you who is connected to your wifi? thanks in advance

Im using linksys wrt54g going into basic wireless settings only gives me the choices to change the settings from wireless G to B. Wireless security which lets me put in a pre shared key or wep. Also mac filter which i have disabled. I still have no idea how to check who is using your wifi.

Well i just turned my mac filter on so only my n80 connect to the wlan, is there any way possible someone else can connect to my wlan even tho their mac adress isnt added by me? If so woulld i be able to leave the wifi open cause it is annoying putting in the pre shared key all the time/

I only had to input the key once, when i created the access point on my N80, then every time i connect it doesn't ask for it again.

well as the web setting i have it on a created home wifi, but it connects to easy wlan listing all the wlans in the area, i just put the mac adress on and put the wifi on no security.

It is almost impossible for someone to spoof (i.e. COPY) a MAC address, so it's highly unlikely anyone else will be able to connect to your WiFi router.

However, someone with a packet sniffer could possibly intercept your data, so I would recomment you also enable WPA/PSK encryption on the router, then reconfigure the N80 connection with the encryption key.

i agree, yes.
he /she must really try very hard to sniff your mac id, to connect to your wi-fi router. so, for now, turning on the mac address restriction on, is the best way.

Hi dez_borders, obtaining mac addresses from wifi is simplistic in the extreme - regardless of any encryption scheme in place, MAC's are sent in the clear. Spoofing a MAC is also easy.

Yes - thats true - you can easily spoof a MAC address, but in defence its the easiest way of managing WiFI Security ... Its what I am going to be using ...

BTW how do you find the MAC address of your N80?
