Hi,
I tried to flash my n80 to upgrade to upgrade to internet edition.
Unfortunatly I failed the flashing and now I have only a damaged phone without warranty.
I boughted another N80 but it has another IMEI and I have a lot of original software that works only with the first damaged N80.
I also changed the cover of the working one with the damaged one, as the damaged was black and I prefer black.
I need to change the IMEI to have a new complete phone. Can I change it with NSS for example?
I can change the "prod serial number" (like I changed the phone model) but I don't want to damage another phone... someone can help me?
Thanks.
Change I M E I on a N80 - no illegal purpose!

I understand why you want to change the IMEI but it is totally illegal. 😮
I think the maximum fine is unlimited and the jail sentence around 5 years.
You would be better buying new serial numbers for the software...
i believe with phoenix (used for firmware flashing) it has an option to change the imei, altho ive never tried to use that feature. id like to wonder if u can somehow change the dead phones imei and get it exchanged with ur warranty on the new phone. that might a be little illegal tho ;p
As stated before, changing the IMEI number of a mobile phone is illegal and is in most countries punishable by law.
The only way I see is to send an email to the software vendors of the software you bought for your original phone, stating the reason why you got a new phone. Most software vendors will gladly give you a new registration code.
