E60 and tomtom 6

Hello All,

I"ve been looking at answer for this, but I can't find it (yet). I have E60 and will probably get GPS device by Nokia (ld-3w) and along I would take tom tom 6 (navigator) software for Western Europe. The issue is they list only E50 and E61 to be compatible. No idea why and can't figure out why E60 would be left out (I can see the reason for installation delivered via SD cards, but there is alternative when using DVD too so...).

Does any of you have E60 and tomtom6 experience (or some acceptable alternative)? I would appreciate your answer.

Cheers,
H

Hi,

Thanks for quick response. The issue here might be that E70 is using miniSD card while E60 RS-MMC. By reading some discussions here and elsewhere it seems as licensing is done on maps level and so is the check... and something seems to go wrong there. Thus originally we have E50 and E61 supported... of course E70 should be as well. I'm not sure where the trick is, but it seems there is a reason why it doesn't work or is not supported and I'm not willing to give money to product which in return might not work.

I have query placed with tom tom for two days now, but still no response. I was hoping someone else might have experience with it already to see if that is some kind of political policy or there is something else going on.

And as we speak I did get response from TT:
"Thank you for contacting tomtom support. Please note that if your device is not listed on the compatibility list, we cannot guarantee that it will work properly with tomtom navigator6. We therefore, cannot advise that you install tomtom navigator 6 on the nokia e60."

Pitty. I wish I bought E61 instead...

Dont worry, working OK. I installed TomTom.Mobile.v6.01.S60v3.SymbianOS9.1 on my E60, (right now without gps receiver) but you can navigate on the map.

Thanks for your response, but I decided I will wait for official support (unless I switch to E61 which got it supported).

I really wouldn't worry. I ran TT6 on my iPaq 2210 which isn't supported by TT. I just ordered the DVD and said I had another, supported , iPaq, actually one that was of a lesser spec than my 2210. Loaded it onto an SD card and it installed a treat on the 2210 when I put the card in. Little white lie but its unlikely you'll need them for support. Post here or

There is far more experience in that site than TomTom have in their support desk.
TT products are SD neutral in terms of mini or standard. Get a reasonably fast one though

I do run it now on my E61 and it works superbly as Oct-Av has experienced on his E60. This just means that TT haven't tested it on the E60. Its unlikely to be "supported" , but miracles do happen. Its not TTs strong suite.......good product though

Hi,
How did you do it? Could you help me please?
Thanks and regards

I've been using my Nokia LD-3W for few weeks now so I downloaded one of those illegal copies of tt6 just to see if it works. Well it does. It works very very well on E60 and if you have your country there or space you wish to explore with tt6 it's a good thing to buy. I wish within next year or so TT will update maps of central europe - especially Slovenia and Croatia which I miss.
