Is the cost between networks the same as the "same network" cost?
Yeah, it will be same, but for now we have an offer of 0,08/message until february.
Which is nice 😃

And the cost is on DNA 0,49 / message 😃
And you believe this is cheap? I pay 0.005 / Kb for my GPRS connection. Since the MMS uses GPRS, I assume the biggest MMS -100kb- should cost 100x0.005= 0.5. I think the fairest charge should be according to the average MMS size which should be around 50kb and therefore should cost around 0.025.
Yeah, should be, could be, but it wont. 😃
I pay 0.005 / Kb for my GPRS connection.
And I pay for GPRS connection 17/month which makes 0,0425/Mb. :P
And that is cheap.
its free to send MMS here in Sweden with Telia until late february
It's been free with all operators since it started (5 months ago) in Greece, too. It is supposed to start charging after the end of the year, yet they haven't announced prices yet and MMSs cannot be sent to other operators yet! Let alone the numerous problems with sending/receiving MMS..
I don't suppose this can change in the remaining 10 days..
MMS between operator is now possible also in italy, but i don't know the cost ...i belive it can be the same as the cost we pay within the same operator (0.5 eu).
If MMS between the operators of the same country is only now becoming possible, how about MMS between different countries?
im in england and hav free mms till 30th jan but then it will cost 40p each, is croos network mms coming here soon?
Im UK also.
Im getting free MMS from O2 at the mo (even tho i dont know anyone who can receive them!).
when i have to start paying, as well as the price per message, will I have to pay a monthly subscription for GPRS? If so I wont bother
...will I have to pay a monthly subscription for GPRS?...
No, it works via GPRS but it should not cost anything extra. Only the message fee.

Have you succeeded in this yourself? I've tried to send MMS messages from my Nokia 7650 (using Sonera) to my friend's SE P800 (using DNA) and the same vice versa (from DNA to Sonera). Neither way have we succesfully received these messages.

Better luck I've had with GPRS roaming of Sonera and Vodafone in Spain. I sent a few multimedia messages from a swimming pool area at +25C when local news told that it was -25C degrees in Southern Finland and over -30C degrees in Nothern Finland. This is the best use I've so far found for MMS messages. 😊
I didn't have to change any settings, "Internet GPRS" and MMS messages worked with the same settings that I use in Finland too.

In Greece, the starting date of charging for mms was postponed by Vodafone GR a few hours before the "deadline". Now it is going to start on January 14. The other 2 operators that offer it will keep it free till the end of January, but have not announced prices yet.
The cost on Vodafone GR will be 0.46 for the first 30kb, but it is not yet clear what the cost will be for bigger messages. I understand it is going to be another 0.46 for over 30kb OR 0.46 for every 30kb!! If the latter is correct, we will be charged 1.84 for an mms over 90kb !!!! Is this theft or what?? :x
An still you cannot send mms between operators!

I am very happy to talk with people from my country 😃
Cosmote (202-01) has the Nokia implementation of MMS from which you are able to send to any operator. (tested OK 😉 )

This sounds like a BAD deal for everybody. Most consumers will find it very difficult to estimate how much sending an MMS message costs, since you would have to know its exact size and understand basics of kilobytes. And then again Vodafone will have hard time marketing this service, because they can't just tell one fixed price. Instead they have to confuse customers with different prices and kilobyte limits.
Considering operator business, will it really make a big difference whether they charge 40, 60 or 90 cents per MMS message? For consumers it makes a big difference, if they cannot figure out easily what they are paying for the service. I think the most important issue is getting people to send MMS messages making it affordable and easy enough.
My hint for Vodafone in Greece: "Make Buying Easy"

Oh, I forgot to login again. The previous message was mine.

...
I couldn't agree more! I'm afraid they're going to make it anything BUT affordable, though... 😞
Few weeks ago, Singapore also have enble inter ISP MMS. But charging a rate that is a little expensive!
