Strange problem - N73 losing time and date on shutdown

As title. Only started happening past few days - its very annoying! I use the alarm on the phone to wake me up, and it didnt wake me this morning! 😡

That could be the issue....

My phone always looses the time and date on power down/up. This only occured after I sent my phone to '3' support to upgrade the f/w (don't get me started on that...!). But when it came back, the battery had a weird black sticky thing on the hologram... ?

coincidence?

i have same problem after a few months of usage. restart phone and date/time needs entered again. got latest ME software on it.
anybody came up with a solution for this?

now that you guys mentioned it, i just realized that i took my battery off few times in the last few days to check my n73's model, id....etc. and never had to re-enter date/time. there must be some 'other' backup battery inside the phone.

There is a backup battery for sure, it can last for good ten minutes. So maybe this battery is somehow defect on your phone? Because it may occur that it is this backup battery responsible for date and time when the phone is off...

Anybody have any luck figuring this problem out?

I have the same problem on my N95. I inquired over on the N95 forums, but no luck there.😡

i've had this problem once on my N73.... and its really annoying... I was able to fix the problem when my phone started to say that its phone memory is low... i reset the phone to its original factory settings... and ever since, i wouldnt have to set the time & date everytime i shut my phone down...

hope it helps...

I've the same problem with N73 RM-133 after firmware upgrade from 2.x to latest 4.x. Phone is loosing date, time, timezone on restart and sometimes at 00:00.
Is there a solution for this issue ? Reset factory settings didn't help. Thank you!

I'd say the your N73's Auxilary Battery is dead, this is what runs the clock even when the phone is off. Just like in your car. You'll have to take it to a Nokia Care/Service Center.

clock and time battery in NOKIA N73 shxtPHONE

hi,

Already so disappointed with this N73 phone, and now it also doesn't keep time and date even 10 seconds when it switches off.

Is it easy to change the date and time battery without asking to any repair center?

Thanks a lot.
