Nokia tone .. errrm..

I have the same problem. It appears sometimes.
To resolve I make a restart.
Maybe some processes that had been killed by an application or something like that.

Same problem...It happens to me when I have a lot of apps running and probably the 9210i is not fast enough to ring with the wav you want...but after a couple of seconds it will ring the wav you have chosen...weird!!!

Yup... u will get that DUMB default ringtone... when u have lotsa apps running at the same time... It's always a good idea to close some apps with your Memory Manager... but always remember... not to close the "telephone app"... if i'm not mistaken TASKMAN will close this too if u close all apps...

p/s: 😉 another simple trick is to press the "Tel" button before u close your communicator...

I heard someone say that occasionally the wav doesn't play at all and then you don't hear the call. Is that just a rumour or has it happened to you? If it changes to the default ring tone, it's not so bad but if it doesn't ring at all... well, there is a problem.

I used a wav-tone for a while and a couple of times I wondered why I hadn't heard the incoming call. There may be other reasons for this, but just to be on the safe side I switched back to a regular rgn-tone. :-?

Sometimes my incoming message ringtone does not go :-? ! The message arrives but no sound comes out :x ...It's not a bad problem but it's annoying :roll: ! A re-boot will do it and occasionally it just fixes by itself... 😮 8)

This is supposed to a phone after all.. :robot:

I find this only occurs after I've shutdown the telephone app in order to save space for the memory hungry apps. As for no message tone, that happened to me once I got over 600 SMS in my inbox (and about the same in outbox), as soon as I deleted them it was fine again.

In my case, sometimes my phone doesnt ring at all. No nokia ring. Didn't hear my incoming calls. I guess that's the problem of using a wav file instead of a rng file. Also, my phone automatically reboots. What a hassle, man. :evil:
What is the solution to the problem? Help.

I have the same problems, that

a) I hear the "lovely" 😉 Nokia tune instead of my wav file even if I haven't closed the Tel application, but a reboot normally does the trick.

b) get no incoming message tone. This especially happens when I send and receive a lot SMS with in a short time. But I haven't found a solution to this one yet 😞

I guess the problem is with the 9210i... :roll: I had the 9210 and almost never experienced this problem :-? . When I bought the 9210i I noticed that this happened very very frequently :evil: ...It's just something that I noticed with direct experience...I couldn't explain why it does it more with the 9210i and less with the 9210 :roll: ...but it shure happens when the 9210 is working at full regim... 😮

I have a 9210 with the latest software version, so it is not only the 9210i. I actually didn't experience the messaging notification problem with previous software versions...

I'm screwed... 😮

I have also experienced this problem many times with both 9210 & (i), that nokia ring tone is undeletable, it can never be deleted, so you just have to put up with it, and reboot the 9210i every so ofter, it usually works.

i hav 9210 any i got all latest registerd progz except one (esuite) coz of imei...guys now the prob is tht sometimes whn sumbdy callz me i hear nokia tune which makes me mad :evil: and when some1 giv me a misscall at tht time the notification of miss call does not appear at all :cry:
wat i think is tht mayb it happenz coz of quiting Tel from app manager or when the size of log got some much increase bcoz whn i del log it usually get's normal...
i thought i was the master but i guess there's some1 above him...
but i never giv up if some1 4rm u can help plzz do or else...

Does this only happen to 92xx machines that are fully loaded with software or does it also happen on a fresh installment of operating system software?.
Maybe I.m thinking that all you have an application that is making this problem happen.

Maybe it's the program for mp3 or wave file player.
.
It's trial and error from starting again (after you done a back up of internal c: and external d: drives through pc suite).
Delete everything on c: and d: then install each piece of software one at a time and test for a little while until the bad software shows it's wrong doings. Contact the software developer/s and let them know. So they can make the needed changes.

But also if you find not your softwares then it's time to let nokia know of the problems, so the can update it in a new firmware for us all.

Don't think so...It happened to me even when the 9210i had no extra apps installed! :-?

Got this situation here yesterday...nice feature.
I think it is caused by some open apps, unclosed. Not shure yet.

ok, i was having this problem in my first day using the 9210i, without any installed software!
I'm going to visit NSC soon 8) to delete this stupid tone! :evil:

BTW, IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE POLYPHONIC TONES IN THE NEXT FIRMWARE?? :roll:

Same as me...but the nokia tune doesn't really bother me... 😊
