60 replies · 21,064 views · Started 23 March 2007

Hello,

I Have received an E-Mail from "Nokia 360 Smartphone Study" regarding an invite to trial the N95 for free. I currently have Nokia 360 software installed on my N80, which logs and monitors usage and sends info back to Nokia for "review and user satisfaction" purposes.

I have signed up usingt he form supplied, the question is, is this legit? Has anyone else had this email, and am i going to be getting a N95 for free in the not too distant future???

Rgds

sToKiE

I had an email from phonestudy for testing on the N80, but I already had an N80.... after about 3 or 4 weeks I got some vouchers for M&S totalling 50.... so I was happy... I tried to sign up for the N95 test too... but from the 35 mins I got my sms to getting online to sign up Id missed the boat!!!

Now youve told me what you have... Im pissed!! 😡

😉 😉

I didnt get an sms
I just had an email waiting for me when i got home last night.
I didnt get a chance to read any of the details.
I just signed up as quick as i could and bagged a nice N95 for free 😊
I have had the 360 survey on my N73 for 4 weeks now

i've been rading the comments on this post and some others......

how do you actually get to sign up for the phone study???? i've been seraching but can't find any information on it.

thank you

I think it comes through being a member of club nokia.
I just had an email on both occasions.
Dave

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much - I must have applied to test at least half a dozen phones over the last 5 years and never heard a thing back!

You are correct in saying you need to be a member of club Nokia though.

ahhh but this doesnt have to be related to the test pilot scheme club nokia run, maybe the smartphone scheme instead... which is different.

I got one of those e-mails too.

Signed up within 9 minutes of receiving it so I'm hoping I get an N95 through the post. Anyone have a good idea of how long it takes for the phone to arrive? do they even send you a confirmation?

I had this email back from them
"Hello David,
You will find attached as a Word document the Participation agreement of
the N95 panel study. Your test phone should arrive within 9 days, most
likely earlier, but we like to keep a margin. It is delivered via DHL.
Thank you very much for your participation,
Best regards,
Nokia Study Support"

In the word document was

Damn, sounds like I didn't get in then as I haven't received anything from them yet.
Shame, I was quite looking forward to a new phone for free. I thought I would've got in though as I filled in the form near enough instantly and they took my address etc;
Maybe next time. Thanks for the info.

I didnt get anything after filling the form in.
I emailed them to find out when i could expect the phone and just to get a copy of the t and c s .
Who knows. Fingers crossed eh

Well that extra tid-bit has indeed got me crossing my fingers. I love my N80 but the thought of GPS on a phone has really got me excited. It'll make Geotagging my photos so much easier. I think I'll e-mail them myself. I assume you just replied to the e-mail address they sent the e-mail from?

DAMN YOU~!! DAMN YOU ALL!! 😉

When they say log on quick I think they need to change that to LOG ON NOW!!! As I did it a few hours after I had the mail, cause it wasnt working via logging on on my N0 :@ ... anyway... next time!

Have fun guys!

I don't think I could've logged on much quicker. It says I received it at 12:31pm on March 23rd and it seems I forwarded it on to my mate for him to see at 12:44pm. I know I'd already filled it in at that point so I would guess I was quick enough.
The wait is agonising though. If I don't need to upgrade my phone then I can get a much better deal on my contract with Orange this time.

hi,

normally i just read these forums and don't post.. but I had to share with you all the news that my phonestudy n95 has just arrived via DHL 😊

unfortunately, I'm at work and the phone is at home, but I've banned the girlfriend from opening the box.... 😃

Yep got mine too!
No memory card though but cant complain.
I also got the 20 of m and s vouchers for the last survey in the box.
Thanks Nokia!

I've just been informed that there is a phone waiting for me at home. I wish I hadn't agreed to go swimming tonight. I'll be distracted knowing there's a brand new gadget for me to play with!

I'm disgracefully excited about this. I'm meant to be an adult yet here I am like a 4 year old on Christmas morning!

LOL
I was the same
The phone is uber cool!

You will need to activate the study software.
I got this email from them

Dear N95 Panel Participant,

DHL has been so fast in your case (these phones left Helsinki at 14:30
yesterday) that we did not have the proper time to update the N95 IMEI
codes in our database. So if you have tried to open the SP360 software,
it probably was showing 'disabled (expired)' as Status.
The way to make it work properly is to, while the application is opened,
tap the digits 78966 (they will not appear on the screen). Then in the
Options menu, tap Start. It should set the application Status back to
'enabled' and get it started.

This is a group email, your individual questions will be answered
individually, if this does not solve the problem you have raised with us.

Thank you for you collaboration.
Best regards,

I'm quite happy doing a bit of work 😊

Just received an interesting e-mail from Nokia

Hi Mister McLane,

Yes you are registered in the N96 panel study. The phone should be on
the way and reach you via DHL within the next two business days.

Thank you for your participation.

I'm not Mr McLane and there's an N95 at my house right now.

Other than that, the response was correct for my question.

Well I'm pleased to be able to inform you that your phone is on the way. If you PM me your e-mail address I can forward the e-mail to you if you like?

Is the N96 a typo or are you actually getting an N96?

must be a typo, since the n95 was delivered earlier.. 😃

So if i got the email regarding the not-yet-enabled study software, should i be pretty confident of being part fo the study, and hopefully receiving the phone tomorrow or Monday?

What do you guys think?

Ace. I'm now at home and i'm preparing to move over to the N95. It's a damn good looking phone.

I would say you're in with a good chance. I didn't receive that e-mail, or even a despatch e-mail yet I got the phone.

I can't believe I'm more excited about a new phone than I am about exchanging contracts on my first house tomorrow.
