re-installation of 9210 system-files without pc-connection??

hi everyone -- after formating my communicators c-drive in the explorer ive now got no chance to re-install the whole system-files downloaded from nokias website. is it possible, that there is no chance to connect to the communicator without the files on c:??? i cant believe, that there is no minimum system in the communicators ROM.

this is verry important -- so if anybody knows a possibility to re-connect to the 9210 please post it!

Are you sure that you are connecting the cable properly? I sometimes find i have to wiggle the cable plug gently back and forth to get it to connect. After every format of my device and there have been alot of them,i have been able to reinstall no problem. Perhaps its a cable fault? Or a serial port fault? Try installing the 9210 software onto another pc and trying it on that.

Installation shouldn't be a problem.
But you can't copy the sis files to your 9210 and then install them.
Using pcsuite and your cable or infared you should be able to install all sis files needed

thanx for your quick response, but the problem is still there -- i tried it with another pc, another pc suite-release an another cable -- no chance. the inside screen of the communicator is white. the handy-part works. i think, files from the system c: are needed, but without connection to the communicator i cant re-install it.

any chance?

try .. copy the system to memory card with usb card reader

go to inststall remove in 9210 selct install new .. selct browse..

select memory card ... you can install system 😃

sorry icant speak english 100%

Regards

If you are saying that the inside screen is white, I think that you have a kind of a big problem. Because even after formating the C: drive you should still be able to use your Communicator like the first time you buy it, you should enter curent time and date, and a time zone. every thing should work correctly, but without the software installed by you. In this case I really don't know what you realy can do. try reformating the device by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F at startup.
Good luck.

You system is indeed not fully installed. After format you'll get the hands and after that a whole config menu for your date and stuff.

😉 How about formatting it again... take the battery out, wait for around 30 seconds, then put back the battery, When you see the Nokia 9210 Communicator Welcome screen, immediately press and hold down the Ctrl+ Shift+ F keys... now it will format properly...

p/s: formatting the memory removes all items except the standard applications that have been factory pre- installed in ROM memory! so u should actually be able to connect even after formatting...
