Hello all,
I just got my N95 yesterday, and have given it a bit of a workout in the evening.
I managed to make it reset several times. It seemed to be when I was connected to the my home wi-fi network, and used any Internet applications apart from the standard web browser.
e.g. when I navigated to a web page (BBC I think), and then tried to stream a video (opens up RealPlayer and then resets).
(I was also charging the phone at the same time).
Has anyone else seen this happen?
I'll try repeating it again today...
Rick
I did have some sponatneous restarts with an early model, but nothing with the production model. I know others probably have, but not the specific cicrumstances.
I've had no problems at all yet with my production one - not particulalry thrashed it but done a fair amount of tinkering.

No, not experienced anything similar. I've also browsed the BBC website and streamed radio programmes (not video) via RealPlayer without any problems to date.

well doesn't it suck when your first post is about a problem 😞
anyhoo, i've been getting similar problems. It will appear to connect to the access point, then restart after a few moments.
the kicker is i can't wait for the autoupdate thing cos my wonderful provider didn't connect me properly so i have no network connection. bah
Had mine a week and now 4 resets in the past few days.
Always when using GPS. Today when I was nearly at a destination I wasn't familiar with it reset. Grrrrrrrr!
mine so far resets when using truphone so have taken it off, but dont know if its just the wlan keeps disconnecting as its not mine its a neighbours unsecured network, the signal is not strong at certain times of the day it also picks mine up at home as well
Mine seems to reset when i try to rush it.
It also resets whenever i try to use the search program.
i also cant access the call features in the settings menu.
i am hoping new firmware will address this
Got my N95 about 24 hours ago and have seen half a dozen or so resets since then. I thought at first I had a dirty battery or SIM contact, but it's not as simple as that. Haven't narrowed it down to a particular activity, but now that you mention connecting to an access point I think that's probably it.
GeoffT.
I've seen resets when connecting to an WiFi access point, but not a normal access point.
I been using mine for 3-4 days now and must say the software is extremly unstable. Its a production version of course.
I was surprised that i reseted when sitting next to me without me doing anything!!!
I lost counts of times it has restarted....
A few time it happened when i was surfing, switching application, playing around with programs, themes changing etc etc.....
Seems damn unstable but still i really like the little guys 😃
I am hoping the software gets stable soon. I was using a W950i and that crashed also quite allot so i though N95 would be better but so far it proved me wrong but i forgive it for its so sexy and got potential 😉 🙄
can i ask you all what network are you on i have a tmobile branded phone and its the same when on wifi it will timeout lots and also when trying to disconnect wil crash every time or phone will lock ( battery out to restart ) but still luv the ohone but nokia plz hurry up with the software update!!!
Mine resets itself when it's placed in the phone holder in my car or in my back pocket. Seems to happen if the case is subjected to squeezing.
I've had the same thing happen to me whenever I use truphone. it just restarts. i also upgraded the phone to latest firmware.
I don't know...has anybody been able to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Cat
I get the odd restart when it's not in use, just stitting there with no apps running. Although a couple of times i did suspect it was when a call was coming. No indication on the screen of anything before the restart, but after it retsarted a call came in and they said they tried to call a moment before but it weant stright to voicemail.
before reset, try to upgrade it, a new upgrade has been released 😃
