cant find a thing on karting at those links :/ or understand them hehe, sorry 😞

taken from the second link posted by omar_g

The following sides are absolutely independent of Nokia or a telephone company, yet it concerns only the Nokia 9210 Communicator and the Nokia 7650 !
The following pages are not under any circumstances a graphic bitebite bites, thus do not frighten...
However they should not be that also, I try to the substantial to limit, i.e. information clearly readable and fast callable sides.

Nothing the defiance much fun on my sides, which are nearly daily updated (completely in each case down right visibly!). Even if you have still Tipps, pictures, or whatever to 9210 or 7650, then send me these nevertheless please directly on [email protected] .

Sides? o.O

[edit] after more of a lookabout here's aLINK

Scrap that, it DOES have multiplayer over bluetooth! Its $19.99 (13.50) from www.handango.com

w00h00 cheers for the link, it looks good 😃

just have to make room for it now :/ hope its worth it 😃

I'm trying to convince one of my mates to buy it, but they all say it's far too expensive. It is the same price as Mario Kart for the Gameboy advance which is a far better game so maybe it is a little overpriced.

It's always tough pricing games for phones - I personally don;t see much call for anything over $15 (10) and that's only if it's the Mutts Nutts. When games start approaching simialr prices to GBA and PS2, then you gotta worry - unless it's called "Julian Gollop's Laser Squad Nemesis."

15$ for his then 20$ for geopod ...what is he world coming to? Software for the 7650 should sell for about 5$ or so max.
then poeple will start buying them instaed of getting them for free from the net.

Lol someone will come along and say something along the lines of "If you can afford a $x phone then surely you can afford a $x game"

If not then hooray 😃
because my phone was free :P and maybe those who could afford the phone no longer can afford anything heheh.

I do think some applications and games cost too much, take for example that mp3 player, even though the 7650 memory isnt large enough for it to be of much use, it's similar in price to PC software and its interface looks ugly.

😮ops: I'm programer of MGS Karting. I think MGS Karting won't disapointed you, it's really funy and cool. I've been a game coder for about 8 years, I think this is the most playable game that I ever made😃 .

With this game, MGS goes to V1.9. I added serveral new features in MGS 1.9. 1st, for S60, MGS can decode MP3 at realy time as background music; 2nd, now MGS can scens your profile settings, when you at office or on a meeting, you can change your profile to 'slient' or 'meeting' then MGS won't give out any sounds; 3rd, a set of new user-interface frame work added, you can see that from the differience of Karting vs old MGS games (such as SilverBall).

Now we are moving all of our games to P800. An new game is also under developing. Hope them go smoothly so you guys can get more and more good games from us.

At last, sorry for that you think Karting is too expensive. But we think is a reasoned price, for what we had paied to it (we got only 4 hour sleep time a day during making it, and that lasted two month!), and it's quality worth so. Compare to another 3D racing game resently released, MGS Karting:

#1 :P Takes little memory space, including MGS V1.9(460K) it's 860K. And that MGS's 460k can be shared whith other cool MGS games like MVRPool, SilverBall, or SteelWarrior. My 7650 installed about 10 MGS games here and only takes 1.6M memory.

#2 :fadein: We more user friendly, have you seen such a nice UI that MGS Karting provided? We even have left-handed control sets!

#3 😃 We give you more fun! See how many different Karts and Drivers you can choose, and there are 8 vary tracks you can race on! Your opponents are well AIed, and very funny. Bluetooth game runs fast and cool, an unregistered user can join others.

#4 8) We are really a 'Phone game'! MGS Karting won't go disappaer after you recieved a call or switch out. MGS can scens your profile settings, you can play it at any where, even in your class! :black:

one thing i like about the mgs games is the ability to use the phone sideways 😃

I'll give the demo a try now, havent dont it yet 😞

To avdpro

I for one appreciate developers joining in these conversations, because it's great to see the thinking behind stuff.

Pricing is *always* going to be a problem, because of balancing time and effort, and number of sales you can get against a certain price.

It would be interesting to find out the total value of sales for the top apps and see if they make the same sort of money. It probably is the case of more people buy a cheaper game, but is that enough to beat the number of people who buy at a higher price?

My *personal* opinion is as above, I don't see much call for stuff above around $15, and personally think $10 (7) is about right for the average application...

Hmm, I feel a poll coming on!

(Oh and from a moderators point of view, could you register with the site, because at the moment I could post something as a guest with the guest name avdpro and a lot of people might be fooled)

Ewan:
Hmm, there's one problem with your pricing.. sites like handango take 30% of your price, so 10$->7$ etc. Looking this way from 20$ game developer has got only 14$.

Another thing is the very small amount of sales that you get comparing to other platforms like GBA, PS2 or PC. That's why games are priced nearly as high as for other platforms... when customers base will grow there's a good possibility that games will get cheaper, especially the games that are available for several months.

I just want to qoute EWAN.

The high price might get ppl away.

Put it this way
zip, e-book, code vault, emessaging, active desk, e-extras, e-recorder, app manager, and so on...

It is right away quite more than 200 Eur i had spent, let,s say.
I put only essential....

Now put a gps module for 9210 (wich is not the case here) and you gou another 400 euros.

I bet for shure that a 5 USD-5 Eur price will increase at least 100% your sales.

Run a special promotion for January, and you will see it.

I really believe in you guys. Make it happend. I have seeen frewares getting payed here or at handago. Just try.

I know I am special sometimes

thespecialboy:
do your math.. 4 times price drop against 2 times sales increase? Looks like a bad idea to me😊

Instead of dropping price I try to make my product better and therefore you will see a patch for CF in a week or two max. This way you get a better game for the same money.
It's only a pity that we get REALLY LITTLE FEEDBACK... with some feedback we could possibly fix any issues that ppl have and/or implement some additional functions that they suggest...

had a play on the game, very nice, reminds me of the mario kart days hehe.
One problem, well not a problem, more of a niggle for me is the method used to accelerate and brake in the game. Currently to accelerate you hold up, until you reach the desired speed and the let go or press down to brake. After playing many driving games across various platforms, a commonly used method of acceleration/deceleration is to hold down the button and release to slow down gradually.

When playing a fast paced game like MGS Karting, i think (or 'it suits me' is more appropriate) this method of controlling speed is better for gauging the speed reuired on turns and also allows u to adjust speed quicker.

just my 2 cents 😃

this must be the best game i've ever played, beautiful graphics, nice sound, perfect.. 😃 (i never thought i'd say this about a game on a phone)
