I did phone a few time to E2Save but they were the most rude and unhelpful people I've had the pleasure of dealing with - My contract is with Orange and they were ok with cancelling the contract but e2save had to do it ( being the retailer ) The refused outright and woudl not say anything other than " there is nothing we can do"
between a Rock and a hard place , but i'll NEVER use Orange / e2save again as a result and am advising all and sundry to also.
No.
It doesnt work like that.
You bought the handset specifically to use the Internet Telephony feature that the handset has.
You wanted to buy the handset, as you had seen the Nokia website detailing that this feature was available.
You purchased the handset on the assumption that YES the handset would be simlocked to the network, but NOT that core unique selling features of the handset would be removed from the handset, stopping you from using the Internet Telephony function with your HOME / OFFICE AND HOTEL (WHEN YOU TRAVEL) WIFI connections.
At no point did you recieve any communication from Orange or the retailer detailing that the handset had had core unique selling features removed.
If you would have known this, you would have not proceeded to make the purchase and in this respect you were missold a handset and were not give your consumer right to oblige or decline the offer knowing the adverse modifications to your handset.

The fact that you purchased through a retailer is better as they should have told you the handset was modified and Orange in turn are at fault, as they have kept silent about this as per the OFCOM battle that is due to ensue ;0)
Dont be broken down and dont be scared to have aggravation with them mate. Dig your heels in squire and cancel that contract with the retailer directly mate ......
Cite that they have missold some goods, which has now been acknowledged in the press, with a well known BBC consumer program being involved, as well as OFCOM.
You wish to cancel the contract and that is final - The retailer cannot stop you cancelling the contract if the handset which was as much part of the contract has been missold - !
AND FOR GAWDS SAKE PUT ALL CORRESPONDANCE IN WRITING - EMAIL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE / COMPLAINTS EMAIL ADDY .....
