ok - so it doesn't affect your credit rating first of all but sadly you don't get to keep the handset. unofficially i think they use them to sell on as refurbs. still - means you can get a brand new one after 6 months 😊

you have to give back the phone - which is why i didnt pay the extra on my o2 xda
im not giving back a 600 quid handset to save 100 quid in line rental.
On a slight tangent about insurance. For T-Mobile to cover my phone against loss, theft, damage and airtime abuse would have cost me £6.99 a month. I didn't take that and instead rang up my home insurer. They took the details and IMEI of the phone, put me on hold for 5 minutes and then came back and said they'd added it to my policy (with the exact same cover, which I confirmed with them) for nothing!
they've been lying scumbags to be frank...
i was told 28 days from the outset - went in saturday to chase it up and they said "err, no i wouldn't have told you that. its at least 4 months"
to which i was less than polite...
