N95 Ringtones

Hi

I'm waiting for my 2gb card to show up, so I'm just using the preinstalled tones for now. A simple question, other than going into profiles, where can I view and preview these tones. I can't find them in gallery or file manager

Following that, once I get my sd card, will profiles automatically pick up mp3's and similar that are stored on it

many thanks

Using a file explorer, like SysExplorer and go to Z:. In that unit there are ringtones and some other things, but you only can copy, because Z is a ROM memory...

Hi There!

Yes, SysExplorer is a great app! To answer your second question, yes, your mp3s are visable from the sound settings. You can just keep them on the mem card.

And can anyone tell me where I can get a plain, ordinary, boring RING RING like my old N70 had pleeeeeease. !!??

I just want an old British 'ring, ring', like the 1970's phone my parents used to have.

Tinker.acc is an American variant of this.

If you open music player on the phone then press the options button (left soft key) & select 'refresh music library' any mp3s on the N95 will be added to the music library & then should be accessible.

Mmm... well OK I'll take another stab at it.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a simple British 'ring ring' ring tone that was used in the standard issue red telephones in the late 1970's and through the 80'S

Call it nostalgia if you want - but I also think it is slightly ironic to have such an advanced piece of kit and to pair it with such an old school sound.

Besides which I don't really want to be 'down with the kids' and always worry about having the latest and greatest ringtone.

That's great dude! Thanks! It is exactly the sound I want.

I don't want to seem ungrateful though, but the small problem is that it is only exactly two rings long. This means that there is a noticeable cut after every 2 rings have passed.

I know I'm probably being a pain in the ass, but it takes something away from the authenticity of the sound because of this.

Something maybe 6 (or even better 8 rings long) would probably give a nice smooth continuous sound with no noticeable cuts in it - and it would give me enough time to pick up my phone and answer it too, before the tone began to loop.

I am of course not asking you to do this, you have already been very kind in providing this tone. So I guess I will have to just keep searching for the tone I want elsewhere.

Nonetheless great job - and thanks again for trying to be so helpful.
