In the fridge ???????? UV(ithink your advice was ,
stick it on the microwave)???? ,look man i was
the guy that found the phone ,not the one that
lost it,i ain(t that stupid
Guys, how do you know the phone has been registered as stolen (and rendered unusable)?

The security code may be because the phone has a SIM-specific lock placed on it or an SP-Lock. When a phone's IMEI is barred, it will still power up and log on to the network as normal. When you attempt to make a call you will hear a "barring" tone, and attempting to send an SMS message will bring up a "USER RESTRICTED" message (or similar).

It may well have been registered lost/stolen but none of you can know for sure unless:

A) It was your phone.

B) You've tried to make a call with it.
EVEN if i flash it ??????????

As soon as I discovered the sim lock code I activated it. At least if I was to have my 7650 stolen I'd be happy knowing it couldn't be used. Phone robbery is surprisingly in the UK (although it mostly depends where you live)

well you screw around 😃

you get 12 and your'e fired!! (it's 12 right?)

You don't wanna get one! Moderators give warnings, so you better give me a ride in that m3!! :P

LOL!

Ooooooo! New M5 is in a month? I should read car magazines instead of studying for final tests! With I-drive and all? sweet! 😃

Even if you flash it you'll still be faced with the same problem of not being able to dial out if the IMEI is registered.

If you were to change the IMEI (which is not done through a software re-flash on the 7650 AFAIK) then you'd be in action. BUT you may be stuck with it because:

1) It is illegal to sell a phone with a different software IMEI to that printed on the back.

2) It is illegal to sell a phone with a blocked IMEI

3) It is illegal to change the IMEI

4) It is illegal to harbour/handle stolen goods, which a barred phone technically is.

5) You'll be hard pushed to find someone who'll do it for you (change the IMEI).

6) You'll be pushed even harder to find someone with the equipment!

Fair enough thats all a bit by the book, but what it does mean is that there's not much you can dowith your new phone. I changed the IMEI of an old 6210 I had, a year or so ago (before it was illegal) and sold it on ebay about 5 months ago. I forgot about the changed serial number until I got a letter from the guy I sold it to. He was threatening prosecution unless I gave him a refund and allowed him to turn the phone over to the police.

That was a one off extreme case but be warey of what you do with the 7650 you found, could land you in hot water.

you guys are giving great advise to the fella who started this topic but he has not answered since he posted the whole topic he is WWWAAAYYY gone now,i reckon he knocked it off some poor kid,,,,, Yeah right as if he found a 7650 on the toilet so was there a birthday card with the phone and a lottery ticket!!!!!!

That is not going to help much.Lots of stores will reflashit without asking.

I made a mistake inserting phone lock code, cuz I've forgot it.
the only good thing is that the phone remembered my sim so I can use it withot probs with this sim

Well,if its is ste to ask to lock code on sim change, then you are in trouble, only if you change the sim though 😃

Well, back in my country we don't have this IMEI block rather just SIM lock.... I ever picked up 3-4 hps and have no issue to use it.

One suggestion.... try the default combo then different combo of "abcde" to "edcba". Definitely it will work but u have to be patient! :P

OHHHHHH so you found my phone!!!

thank you ... please send it to me ASAP!

thank you very much for keeping an "eye" on it ....

LOL, you gave the guys a ton of idea on how to get away with a picked-up/stolen phone..... 😉
