Want another free alternative to Nokia's free Smart2go? Although available unofficially for much of the world for a while now, it seems that Google has made support for Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom official for its Google Maps for Mobile Java app. If you've got a meaty data tariff or Wi-Fi, it features mapping, routing, satellite images and a business directory. Have they added support for GPS in S60 yet? It seems like Symbian is the only platform they don't support GPS on these days...
No support for the nokia N95's internal gps yet 😞
still inferior to mgmaps or j2memaps, on the java app camp...it does not alow conection to a gps module!!!
It's not clear to me from the post whether Google Maps is rolling out their improvements in the background, or whether I need to reinstall the software to take advantage of them. Care to explicate?
Download and installation to the 9500 (last OS 6.32 or so) does not work and leads to a fatal error. Download and installation to the 9300i works fine.
