I flashed my t-mobile last week and its fine never had your problems in the first place though and whilst the battery life is not great its a lot better now after a few weeks. To be honest this is the best phone i have ever had its brilliant !

Hi there!

Yes, changing your firmware solves a lot of bugs. BUT, some of your problems sounds so serious that it might accually be a hardware issue, which the firmware update won't fix. And if you need to change the product code to get the firmware, you could void your warranty.

If I were you i'd check if my region code has a new firmware. If so, try it.
If it doesn't, take your phone back. Even though you have to wait for a new handset, at least you still got your waranty.

Good luck!

This is my second fone already so t-mobiles gonna be a bit funny about giving me another handset arent they?

The first phone that got replaced had exactly the same problems so how can i be sure i dont get another new fone with the same problems?

Also how do i check if my region code has a new firmware & try it?

:con? :con?

First off, if your phone rings and you can't hear who's on the other side of the line, or the other way around, you should not feel funny about bringing your second handset back! It's you're consumer right to get a fully functioning handset! Some bug are acceptable, and I'm sure future firmwares will improve as with all devices bought today, but not as bad as yours!

(By the way, trust me, you wouldn't be the first to bring back a second handset.):hmmmm:

Secondly, go to http://www.nokia.com/A4305060 😛cguru: There, press "Software update availability" Then check by entering your product code, if you're region has an update ready.😊

Good luck. :burnout:

Tried that software update & it says no update available, anyway rang T-mobile today and after waiting in a que for 2 hours (what a f*****g piss take) their going to give me a new n95 (3rd time lucky hopefully) so thanks for all your help everyone hopefully i wont need to be posting any more issues about this fingers crossed anyway.

😊 :icon14: 😉

I think the issue with people not hearing you is a known problem on the original firmware. Many people seem to have had it (on this forum and on Howardforums).

I never used the original firmware, just flashed my N95 and upgraded as soon as I bought it, but I can say I am not having that problem on the version 11 firmware.

The thing is im scared to flash it then upgrade the firmware as i tried this with my n80 & it disconnected by itself & died so is there any particular way to do this without killing my n95?

Hey look starbubble82, I understand you're worried about a firmware update. We all were, the moment after the download of the 117Meg file and your newly purchased baby is starting to turn itself on and off during the update, we all were sitting with sweaty palms and a heartrate of 220, but for 99.7% of us, it went just fine.

Just do it man. change your product code and download the update. Yes there is a tiny chance something might go wrong during the update, but it's not very big. And after you're done and any problems still persists, just change your product code back and take the phone back.

The new firmware does solve alot, so go ahead, put on a cup of coffee and make a afternoon of it!😊

That's my two cents worth.

Ok then suppose you convinced me, just got to wait for my 3rd T-mobile n95 to arrive then i'll give it a try, any tips or dummy proof instructions? (just to be safe?)

Bear in mind that since this guy is in thailand it's very easy for him to find somebody to fix his phone if his update goes wrong. Over here there's people everywhere with BB5 flashers and some of them actually know how to use them. MBK for example is full of shops who'll flash your phone. The only issue right now is that FBUS cables for N95 are a little light on the ground here.

Is my guide to changing the product code / firmware.

from the sound of it .. you ought to check the phone is working well before you do the firmware.
I'd take it down to a T-mobile store (I assume they have them?) and get them to check it for you - before you do anything to upgrade it.😉

Makes you wonder if some retailers didn't get a whole bunch of dodgy stock from somewhere other than nokia? 😊

Hi there, got Chinese N95 and just updated firmware with version 11.0.026 from 17 April 2007, quite fast, very stable especially Web browsing, excellent! Best phone I ever had. :icon14:
