In the final part of our initial E90 coverage Steve looks at the Nokia E90's GPS and navigation capabilities. The navigation feature are good, but there is room for improvement too. Steve also rounds up a few software odds and end looking at on device search, the barcode reader and more.

So I conclude retail units will start to become available soon after you publish details of your retail/production E90 😊 😊 About a week away? 😊
I think it might eb a bit longer than that 😊

Okay - 2 weeks...whatever, the point is its probably not 2 months away 😊
In the basic mapping mode, the backlight will turn off as normal
There are 3rd party apps that can keep the backlight on for you...
And the java app "discolight" can even turn it up to full brightness.
Although these may not be compatible with the E90, I see no reason why they shouldn't.

Great review Steve,I was just wondering as to what is the physical size of the external screen of the E90? Looks to be a 2 or 2.2 inch.
Yes, probably about 2" - it's just gone back to Nokia for reflashing, otherwise I'd measure it 8-)

Hi steve
Please i beg you awnser this question
1. I have a Nokia N95 but would like a keyboard and big screen but not too heavy, will the E90 do or is it just too heavy?
Thanks
Steve, thanks a lot for the great reviews.
Could you maybe try it to work with 4GB or 8GB card? Yes, I know that officially the limit is 2GB, but just in case... for example, it could work with 4GB cards from particular mfr, etc. It would be too pity to get just 2GB with such a beast.
And one more thing. Is it possible to choose a sound per each alarm individually? We had it with Psions, lost on Comms, and I'm not familiar with s60, but it would be nice to get it back.
Thanks a lot!
DK
@iantaylor
you could use the Nokia BT keyboad - it does work very well with the N95 in landscape mode
I understand that you can buy a keyboard for the N95 but i want the E90 for its big screen & 80mb ram, i want it bad.
Comment: In the basic mapping mode, the backlight will turn off as normal,
At least in Smart2Go on the E70 there is an option to turn on the backlight permanently while using the application. Of course you will suck your battery dry much faster, but it is quite useful. It even prevents the phone locking when using AutoLock at the same time.
Hi
I have spoken with friend of mine that works at headquarters of Nokia in Finland and as told me that the new E90 will be here in the UK around mid June or July, and that Nokia is planning to open it is own store somewhere near Oxford street in London by November this year.

I want to know if the GPS software support making a track or it is the same like N95 you can only take points if you have no map.
