Unlimited HSDPA in UK?

9 replies · 3,341 views · Started 17 May 2007

What are my options and how much will they cost for unlimited HSDPA (fast 3G) surfing via my phone connect to my laptop?

At the moment the leader is T-Mobile Web n Walk Plus £12.50 Monthly

PS things like 1GB per month fair use policy and no skype etc dont bother me I wouldnt use them anyway

T-mobile, you won't look back. I power my laptop with it. I got web and walk plus, mainly because of the 3gb limit - when using the phone to power a laptop easy to draw a lot of data. I have debranded my phone so have skype and IM now, haven't tried if they work though (the t-mobile branding strips them out).

Greg.

Oh and your options? You don't have any. I went through all the operators and they are all rubbish. 02 wanted something like £10 for 20mb!!!!!!!

Wrong.
Only Voda and Orange FW have SIP functionality removed.
I was using TruPhone on T-Mo 10.x FW before debranding to 11.x.

I have a 5 per month unlimited (fair usage, so up to 1GB really) *offpeak* data plan with Orange, which is rather cheap considering that the equivalent anytime bundle is Orange World Access Max - 88.13 per month! Offpeak is after 7pm weekdays and all weekend, which suits me because I'm at work during weekdays anyway. Using it as a modem for laptop probably isn't allowed, but I've been doing it few times a week and no one has told me off yet...

Oh, and you get the first two months free as well 😊

I have a £7.50 per month unlimited (unfair usage, so completely unlimited really) *anytime* data plan with T-Mo 😊
How can you quibble with that ?

Anyone seen Vodafone's rubbish offering from the 1st of June...

£1 a day for up to 15mb and then £2 per mb after.

And suprise surprise, that doesn't include SIP data which is £2 per mb from the start.

Actually, you ARE limited by fair usage policies - 1GB for Web n Walk, 3GB for Web n Walk Plus, 10GB for Web n Walk Max... It's all in the terms and conditions on T-Mobile's website.

I don't know how much the Plus and Max bundles cost, but no doubt more than £7.50. I wasn't saying that my Orange one is better - it's just better suited to me. I never need to use it during peak hours anyway, so for me £5 is cheaper than £7.50 😊
