You can't access hotmail like a Pop3 account, you have to pay and to upgrade your account...

The onyl way to get Hotmail as POP is to subscribe to their advanced users service (the one with extra webspace) if you have done this then the POP3 settings are on the same page where you select POP3 or internet mail. I think it's under Mailbox Options from the website itself.

If you have the opportunity to try using a IMAP email server account in combination with GPRS that can be impressive with P800. Typically several times the mailbox header update speed compared to POP due to the more efficient protocol possible with those servers.

Is this still the case with Hotmail? :roll:

Is it still not possible to access e-mail from hotmail without paying extra??? 😞

Take a look at OneMail.ToGo
Get a Free Trial from [email protected]
It can access Hotmail,Yahoo,AOL,MSn using your standard P800 Mail Progarm.
No need to subscribe to their POP3 Service.
No need to download anything

It makes life much easier for you by
1. convert all HTML Email to Text, no funny characters
2. It reduce these HTML Email size to about 1/10, save money and time
3. It supports full attachment
4. You can also use it to read any webpage, like Avantgo

I use outlook express and it has a default option for hotmail POP3 and i dont have to pay...

AFAIK, Outlook Express is using HTTP-DAV (a.k.a. Web-DAV, DAV = Distributed Authoring and Versioning) to access Hotmail, not POP3.

You still can access your Hotmail like a POP without subscribing to the Service
Try the following

POP Server = pop.btx-eznet.com
Port = 110
Login ID = <your Hotmail Account> e.g. [email protected]
Password = <your Password>

It will read all your Hotmail like a breeze!!
For any HTML Email, which you cannot read in your P800/900, it can now as simple Text
Secondly, I was told that the Email Client in P800/P900 crash if it reads EMail with both Text/HTML.

If this works, whoever manages/runs the pop.btx-eznet.com server can see all your Hotmail messages that you read or send (or take your account and password and do whatever they want with it).

Whoever is behind might be nice people and not do anything even if they can, but they're still an unknown party who I don't know why I should place trust in.

By the same arguement, your ISP can do the same to your email.
if Security is an issue, you should host your own mail server and not to use these free webmail service
We have Customer who will host their own Server and running VPN to access these Services.
