I just finish the initial charge of the P800 Phone, and then I left it "standby" for 24 hours, and the battery DIED, I do not understand, in the manual says 400 Hours standby, please can you give me more details, thanks

As far as I have experienced, mine actually last 400hrs standby, with all powersaving options on. I always charge it over night.

You should at least give it another chance before you beat up the guy you bought it from.

If you have "magic word" ON, discoverable bluetooth ON, animated gif screen saver, etc, you might consider yourself very lucky if it lasts those 24h.

u should charge and discharge the phone once or twice to make the battery fully realised the 400hrs standby "promise"

I agree, you should judge after you have recharged the battery a couple of times...
At first use the battery doesn't last long at all.

keep it in you'r poket (don't anyone play with it) and it will last for long
:P :P :P

From my experiance, when you have the discoverable blue tooth function on you consume the battary almost twice as fast...

i recharged my phone 5 times until now and now it only lasts 4 10 F****** hours!!!!!!

Sounds like you have a defective battery my friend. Time to claim a new one on your warranty.

I don't know if this'll help, but this happened to me once right after a full charge, the power was going down at the rate of 1%/min. After about 20 minutes, I had 80% of power left and the entire phone was running hot. All was fixed, though, when I did a reboot immediately after I realized what was going on.

I just have this curious question for you guys. When was the last time you actually had a phone whose battery lasted as long as the manual says it does?

I've always taken those statistics with a large pinch of salt. 400 hrs. Yeah right. 16 days. Have you ever seen anyone's phone batt last THAT long? even without making a call?

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, battery lasts for generally 2 days if you can contain yourself from playing with the phone other than when you really need: making calls, texting, pim. I play with the phone quite a lot and usually have to charge it every night.

Now before you come making noise about how short the battery life is, I would like to invite you to play with a Pocket PC and tell me how long the batt lasts, moreover without a phone.

Well my P800 lasts me around 4 days with heavy useage and with Bluetooth on 24 hours. I think that it is just a matterof leaving your phone on with fight mode on, with back light off, blue tooth off, pwer save like 1 min. I can bet that it will last 400 hours.

Battery life also depends heavily on how good your net coverage is. If you have bad reception the phone will need more power as it always checks back with the cell it is booked in.

one more thing is that when you have apps running in the backgroud, that is why I think that it would be a good idea to download the file manager to kill all apps that are running but you do not need.

I had my P800 replaced due to serious RF problems and battery drain (50% in 5 hours on moderate use).

This one could keep for 2 days.

It was always rumoured that Nokia tested it's phones battery life by leaving them at the bottom of a mobile phone mast to ensure the best possible signal... 😃

At the end of the day, I guess you have to realise that it's more than a phone... brick has the right answer... try using an iPaq with a GSM backpack thingy... does that last 24 hours?

My older nokia 6210 had an average 5 days stand by lasting using every thing it can offer me (sms, less than 1 hour calls including wap, irda etc.). And even after a full charge when i tried not to use it and leave it to stand by it lasted 7 days, not even close to the 11 days that nokia was claiming. And 7650? Well it was more like a downgrade than an upgrade on this topic.
