i'm using the p990i for sometime now.
the pc suite does not allow u to browse most of the times and it also does not allow u access to the sms and contacts
i'm searching for a sw that will help me to view/export the sms or contacts to pc or other locations😊

let me explain the issue more clearly.
i'm trying to browse or explore in my p990i and thru the pc. i can view only limited folders but not able to view the folders containing the sms or contacts etc
if anyone knows how to get to that folder pls let me know
if a app is required or if there is any hidden settings that i need to look into. i'm actually trying to move the sms and contacts so that i can format and reinstall my phone

I think the files you're after are in a protected folder and can't be got at by us mere mortals for security purposes. You could always transfer your messages to your sim and back up your contacts on your device as you'll be ableto move the backup file about.
Other than that I'm out of ideas.

The Symbian operating system version 9 and later prevents access to certain folders/directories from unprivileged applications. The privilege required to "see" every file and folder is known as "AllFiles", and manufacturers need to grant it to application developers (and they have not done it, and probably will not do it in the foreseeable future, for any file managers type of applications).
