The guy I got it off has said he'll send me another to see if this one's faulty but I just wanted to check here first!
Hi,
I have my Orange contract 3G SIM in SIM1 slot and it works fine. However, I don't live or work in a 3G area, so to save battery life I have the handset configured for GSM mode only. You could try this mode and see if it makes a difference... maybe 3G mode is the problem?
By the way, since fitting the Ghost SIM I have ot charge my handset every night instead of every 2 days. I presume both SIMs draw power even though only one is in use at any time.

Cool I'll give that a try, Orange 3G is down where I live at the moment, it's affecting just about all of Middlesbrough, just rang them and they said they've got 4 3G cell's down and I'm right in the middle so they've told me to swap my phone over to GSM mode only.
I'll post back when I've tried it.
Sorted, it's working now, looks like the phone has to be in GSM mode for the Ghost SIM to work.
Cheers for the help!

I just bought a 'Super Ghost SIM' from eBay, it cost £4.32, including postage to the U.K.It allows you to use 2 SIM cards, on any network (assuming your phone is unlocked). It's best feature is that you don't have to reboot your phone to switch SIM's, you just go into the 'Dual SIM Card' application, under Menu\Applications, and you have the option of both installed SIM cards (it displays their actual phone numbers in the list).
Hi Andy,
How are you finding the Ghost SIM after a few weeks use? Mine was fine for 1st week then recently my battery life went down from 1.5 days to 6 hours. I was dubious that the Dual SIM was at fault, but took it out a few days and now my battery life is back up at 1.5 days.
Any ideas?
P.S. I do not have auto-change enabled on the Dual SIM.
Has anyone tried using an O2 PAYG sim in one of these and got it working.
I am looking to buy one as I have a O2 PAYG sim and a T-Mobile sim and I need something to save me time rom changing the sims everytime I need to access the other

I am using an Orange as my main SIM with an O2 PAYG as my 2nd SIM.
Works fine. 😉
Hi Dez
After a few weeks I am noticing my battery life doesn't make it past a day, and thats without 'auto switch' enabled.
I've found it amazingly useful though, switching to t-mobile to logon to the internet with my laptop, then back to o2 to talk/text.
I think the chipset in the ghost sim is very power hungry, my solution was to add a 12v cigarette lighter socket to my motorbike, and as I'm at work everyday I never run low on battery.
I notice occasionally (only happened twice) it crashes when changing between sims, but other than that its been great
Cheers
Andy
Just got back from my trip to the US and I can confirm the same stuff...
Battery life is terrible, I sometimes didn't even manage 6 hours from a full charge. Granted I was texting and going between SIMs a lot as I was getting texts inbound on my Orange SIM and sending them out on my T-Mobile USA SIM.
Phone crashed a couple of times a day when going between SIMs but that didn't really bother me, the battery life issue annoyed me more as I was out in the cities with no access to a charger.
Has anyone else found the Auto Switch feature useless? It asks for confirmation every time it goes between SIM cards so even if I set it to change every 10 minutes I still had to say Yes to it!
Other than that it worked fine!

Hopefully it will save a lot of time

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the feedback. I have never experience a crash using the Ghost SIM but I am struggling to get a whole day (e.g. 8am to 10pm) use out of my N95 since buying the Ghost Sim. I guess I will just have to keep charging the handset in the afternoons at work. 😉

I've had the ghost sim for about 3 weeks now and I have definitely seen a decrease in battery life. More worryingly the phone has also started crashing. At first it was just when switching sim but recently it has started crashing at seemingly random intervals whenever i open a memory hungry app.
I am not 100% this is caused by the ghost as have also installed a 4gb sd recently. I think i will remove the ghost and see if things return to normal.
