VERY URGENT BLUETOOTH QUESTION!!!!!!!

29 replies · 7,220 views · Started 12 January 2003

Guys i need your expert help! I tried opening my bluetooth today and i got an error promt saying "Unable to perform bluetooth operation!"

Did anybody get this? I remember about a couple of days ago i went through my seleQ and deleted some files found in C:/system/data. i just dont remember if i deleted anything that did that to my bluetooth!

Please help me shed some light on this as it is already driving me crazy! and i cant take the thought of taking it to a serivce center and losing my phone for 1 week!!!!!!!!! 😞 😞 😞

I think if you try to format the phone, it would restore all the factory defaults and re-install the needed files to have the phone working again or say re-complete the files that you deleted.

Slap all your important data in your pc, and format, you won't be losing anything! all your contacts and pics and sound files will be in your pc, then just put them back on the phone after it's cured 😃

thanks for the reply muffy and crypto. this is really some pain!!!

muffy, how do i do a hard reset again, what's the code? please dont ask me to do a search as im already sweating my ass here really bad! and what other things to i have to remember like plugging the charger? appreciate any kind of help, brah! :-?

dang it!!! that's what i mean! see the confusion... what really is the code?

and thanks for the tips, smiley, wil keep that in mind.

just for future reference, i found that the hard reset code is *#7370# (via the support faqs). thanks malebuffy.

So did it work for you???

I had a similar problem .. I was getting the same message plus another one saying system error .. I did not delete any files on anything so I took it to my local NSC and guess what they did??
They gave me a new phone !!@@ yeah they did .. they told me that the bluetooth failure is a common issue with the 3.12 and they tried to reflash the phone but it did not work .. so they gave me a new phone with a V 4.39 😊 so I cant complain but bumer though they gave me my old front and back covers back .. I was hoping for a new ones since the old ones were scratched but I guess they will use the new covers as spare parts . I asked them to have the new covers .. they told me to pay some $35 I hesitated I guess I will wait until they are totally worthless!

I agree with Kuwait.
I got "Unable to perform bluetooth operation!",after i did a hard reset i got
"Unable to perform bluetooth operation!" turned in to "System error".
I got a new phone after 6 weeks 😞

ei, guys, thanks for all the responses! dang it! im so damn mad!!! i did the hard reset thing (*#7370#) and now, as ghostdog said, my freaking bluetooth will prompt "bluetooth system error!" im sending it to NSC and im just hoping they will replace my phone! i have the warranty but sometimes it just dont work that way here in manila. if they dont replace my dang phone - they'll get it from me!!!!

keep y'all posted. 8)

I had the same problem with V3.12. I went NSC, they flashed V3.16. BT was working after flashing. But 10 days later same problem Bluetooth system error something. I went to NSC again, they flashed my phone again with V 3.16 cause that time it was the recent version.
than it was ok again. BT was working.
Here comes the crazy part: One month later, again Bluetooth error. I was very angry. I went to NSC again and they said it is not hardware problem. They flashed V 4.39. It works since 3 weeks.
I had this problem 3 times and they didn't give me a new phone.
They don't know the cause of the problem. I hope I won't have any problem again.

dang it!!! im going crazy something like this might happen to me!!!

I guess they are going to flash your phone with 4.39. Anyway let me know what they say. It is important for me too.

I believe that the whole bluetooth system of the 7650 is very cheepy and that's why it's buggy.

If they only putted bluetooth version 2.0 (and also wap version 2.0)

I agree :robot:

ok, here's the blow by blow account, hehe... 😃 (important for other filipinos who might encounter the same BT problem)

1. got the 'unable to perform bluetooth operation' problem
2. uninstalled all apps, and did a hard reset (*#7370*)
3. after hard reset, problem changed to 'bluetooth system error!'
4. went to the shop where i purchased the unit, Hub in Podium (affiliate of Globe and Nokia), and was told to get technical report from Semicon (affiliate service center) that'll will say 'factory defect' and my phone will be replaced (inspite of their policy that replacement will only happen after one week from date of purchase - my phone was purchased about 4months ago) IF and only IF i can show them the unit's original BOX (imagine that! i didnt even have the receipt and all other document and they're still willing to replace, but they wont replace the phone without the freaking box!)
5. got technical report saying 'BT problem defective IC' went home almost peeing my pants scared that i might have lost the freaking box! 😃
6. found the box, went back to Hub - and got my new phone!!!!!!!!

moral of the story: keep your freaking boxes!!! 8)

let 'em have it ghostdog! as good paying customers we deserve better service! imagine 6 weeks!!! man, if that happened to me, i'd go nuts! i need the phone not only for playing games, enjoying pics, enjoying tones (well...) - but i need it for work more importantly!

but in fairness to the peeps at The Hub in Podium, y'all did a great job! thanks for such great customer service! 😃

Bluetooth 2.0? What are you talking about? I dont think that bluetooth 2.0 existed when the 7650 was released, and i dont think it exists now.
Bluetooth 2.0 will have range from 10 up to 30000 meters and extremly high transfer rates up to 12 MBits per second

OK you are right (saw that old post from a link). Version 2.0 for wap but unfortunately I typed the same number for bluetooth. I meaned version 1.2 (or better 1.x and not 1.0- I am not good with the numbers, sorry).

Besides, Nokia had the technology. They put the same version on 6310 as well as on the connectivity kit of 6210 and now on 3650. Well why not 7650?
Because they wanted make more profits.

Now about bluetooth 2.0 I don't know anything, but I prefer Wi-Fi.
It is no ones property, so no more money for licenses from the companies, cheaper products, and not to mention far better than 3G!!!
