In TomTom (and I'd assume the data is their from any GPS lock) I get an accurate time shown. Is it possible to sync it with the phone time?
Getting time from GPS?
Currently no. But it would be fairly trivial to write an app that could take the time from the sats as yes it's part of the data thats sent down.
You can set the phone to pull the time from your cellular network so that is very accurate

that can be a pain sometimes if you travel, as all your calendar entries get time-shifted.

But isn't that what you want? If the time changes, so should the calendar entries, so you still get reminded of things at the right time wherever you are.
E.g. if you had an appointment at 12pm GMT with a reminder 15 mins before, go to New York, and change the time without shifting the calendar times. The reminder won't come up until 11:45 GMT-5, which would be 16:45 GMT - way too late.

My thinking is that you're much more likely to set appointments up for the country you're going to be in than for what's going on back home. I've nearly missed flights before because of the time change, I switch that off now and just change the time manually.
I'd rather they changed the calendars behaviour for changing time zones on newer models, or better still, gave the option.
