I have a contract N95 on UK Vodafone and am contemplating debranding it to upgrade to the latest firmware. My current firmware is:
V 11.0.026
17-04-07
RM-159
Nokia N95 (41.03)
However I am a bit worried about all the settings being lost such as the access points which were pre-installed on the phone. They are
Business Email
Contract Email
Contract Internet
Contract MMS
Contract WAP
These are all locked on the phone so I cannot write down the settings. Will these be deleted and if so will I be able to get them back somehow? Or does anyone know what their settings are?
I would like the improvements of the new firmware but I don't want to risk losing the functionality of my phone.
Also will preinstalled maps be deleted?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
I'm with Vodafone UK on a non branded N95. You should find that when you put your SIM card in, you'll get the packet data entries automatically IE Contract Internet, MMS and WAP.
The email accounts you'll have to put in yourself. I don't use Voda email so don't know what the settings are.
there is also setup wizard installed on the phone and you can launch it and select UK vodafone and it will install all the basic settings
great, thanks for the help guys 😊
Apologies for the hijack but am in a similar situation (Voda, want to debrand it).
Just wanted to see if anyones had any problems and if voda are sticky about it being debranded?
The phone is brand new at the mo, charged and that's about it. I figure its probably better to debrand it sooner rather than later...

Good plan! As your debranding you shouldn't backup your settings so you'll have to set it up again to your liking, do it now and you'll only have to set it up once.

The moment you change the product code using NSS you technically have no warranty.
It's unlikely Vodafone or Nokia engineers will bother to check the code if you hand the N95 in for repair, however, take this as a word of warning!
If you get in trouble go here

But don't use wap settings!
