Removing Unwanted Themes

14 replies · 4,618 views · Started 22 July 2007

I've gotten bored with some of the themes that I previously installed on my N95. When I installed them, I installed them to "phone memory". They were always listed when I went to "Application Manager" and that is how I used to uninstall them (options -> remove). However, ever since I upgraded my firmware to version 12, they are not listed in the application manager anymore! I've installed Y Browser and can view all files on my N95's internal memory but I cannot locate where the themes are kept.

anyone care to help / suggest ?

thanks in advance,

oops ! I forgot to mention one point. Before I upgraded to v12, I did a backup to memory card. After successful upgrade to v12, I did a restore from card. I have use of all the themes, none have been removed however they are simply not listed in the application manager's list

When you update the firmware your phone memory is reformatted so you lose everything... If you want the themes back you'd have to install them again; and if you want to remove them, well, they have gone already...

I have the same problem and have been trying to locate (they are on the phone somewhere but hidden) and remove a few of them for a while now, any assistance would be appreciated here too......

If they're installed on the phone memory and aren't in the app manager then i dont think there is anything you can do except format the phone, but back up first!
Or you could upgrade the firmware that would get rid of them.

hmmmmmm ???? :con?

There's certain folders in the phone memory that the phone hides from all browsers. The one you're looking for and can't find is the 'Private' folder - C:/Private, that's where apps are installed in the phone memory.

Hi
If you still have themes but they are no longer listed in app manager I would suggest installing them again and this should put them back in app manager so you can uninstall them

I had the same problem of not seeing some of the themes on my SD card. Tried installing the themes again and the phone responded with "update/renew error". I tried installing to the phone itself and the same error occurs.

Does anyone else have similar experience and managed to resolve it?

Thanks
