Call Manager or SmartAnswer? Hmmmm!!!

23 replies · 5,313 views · Started 15 January 2003

SmartAnswer is 9.95 compared to 19.95 for Call Manager. I just tried SmartAnswer and I find it good. Does the job, half the price.

Hi, I tested both programs:

SmartAnswer: I can still hear through the microphone, so the bug is still there 😞 or is there some option to turn the mike of?
When answering the call it starts the contacts program for some reason and sometimes it switches back to the answering machine sometimes it stays in the contacts.

Call Manager: It really has the mike bug solved!! Just a simple straight program that does it's job as it has to.

ehehe

These guys seems to read forums!!!
They are offering Call Manager at $11 only now.
I think that I have no other doubt now.
I will go for Call Manager, it is really working good and for business I need a stable and well tested application like this seems to be.
I cannot miss calls.

:P

Well Handango had it for 19.95 before but it seems they have a special price until feb 15, they must have seen the price of SmartAnswer and lowered it. Oh well.

Taeke,

i should be on one too!!! 8) yup, you can do that. just browse to the file and select it when you're prompted to do so in the settings. and if it's not too much of a bother, can you post these wavs (zipped of course) in the S60MM section so i can use them also. i've been looking for such. TIA! 😃

Do those programs have the possibility to use the answering selectively,
I mean:

for example:
When my family calls, it has to say that I'm in a meeting
When friends call, it doesn't play a message but keeps ringing
When someone calls that annoyes me, I play the message "the n you dialed doesn't exist" (I recorded it by dialing a wrong number on my sony z5)

Is that possible or planned?

nope, if you have the sAnswer turned on, all your calls, if you decide not to pick 'em, will be answered by sAnswer using one type of greeting. 8)

Do you mean that phone beeps every 5 seconds when recording? It is Nokia specific not limitation - when a recorder works (during a call) it MUST beep for the caller to know that he's being recorded. We could get rid of this but it'd be illegal.

Seanmiguel I will try to do for you 2morrow night Australian time.

Physically drained & mentally exempt 2night
