Is there any difference between both versions, apart from handling one more type of phone?

I'm not sure what the difference is to be honest, I used to run 6.010 and it was fine, then changed to 6.020 and it also runs fine, haven't noticed any difference though.

I only changed to 6.020 as it's a higher version number.

As I know, the only difference is that ver. 6.020 handles one more type of phone. I don't remember which one, as I read about it some time ago.
