My phone was fine this morning but the battery was down to 1 bar so I thought I better charge it. It had crashed once last night when I was using the Maps program. It froze for a couple of minutes then restarted.
However my N95 had been charging for about an hour. I picked it up & opened the slider but the time & date remained on the screensaver. I pushed the power button to restart. The display disappeared but now the phone just refuses to switch on.
What should I do? I go on holiday on Monday & need it. Bit worried that i may have invalidated warranty with Vodafone as I upgraded the firmware. I hope it's just a dodgy battery.

take it to nokia service centre they can fix it for free of charge
phone should be under warranty as they have 2 years warranty
Thanks for that. My nearest one is about an hours drive & don't know whether I can get there before I go on holiday.
Might take it to my local Vodafone shop & see what they say.
Remove the battery and reinsert it, then do a hard reset. If it works, you may want to reflash your device.
Hard reset: Press and hold the * and 3 and green (call key) while powering your device on.
I think , removing the battery once will solve the problem.
Do let us know if it works.
I tried removing the battery etc but to no avail. Put the phone on charge for around 10 hours, then suddenly it just came on.
It was working fine for about 10 minutes the went off again & I couldn't restart it. I have bought a new battery & it is currently on 16 hour charge. It does seem to be charging OK as the battery bar is displayed on the screen.
Think I will try & update the software tomorrow.
Yes, that sounds like a dead battery. Be sure to keep us updated, and good luck 😊
Check my blog www.blogn95.blogspot.com for charging info.
I think you may have deep cycled the Lithium Ion battery. They don't like it!
