I has this working fine on my n80 but seem to have deleted it off my laptop. Any ideas where i can find a working version that isnt japanese?

From here the URL:
mobile.msn.com.cn

In step (1) select from the first pulldown the second option. A Nokia logo appear at right. In second pulldown choose N95. A N95 photo appear at right.

Select the icon of the computer at right (computer.gif)

Now press to download the files to your PC (pc.gif)

Save the file and install with the Nokia Install Applications included with your PCSuite 😃 I publish this visual help because the site is MSN China. The file that you donwload are: 544.sisx (330Kb).

Enjoy!

symbianv3.com/files/WindowsLive_for_Series60_3rd.zip

download the zip, unzip the files and install using Nokia Software installer, simple as that and works great.

😊

Works a charm!

Can you enlighten me as to how much data it uses when signed in? Not sure my allowance will cope with TomTom Traffic and Messenger!!

Have you also considered using Fring... It supports MSN messenger as well Google talk & Skype. It will also allow you to make free calls to other users.

Anyone know what is the reason the the official distribution Live Messenger in english of China are of 330Kb and only one file and in other website that I see the Live Messeger are biggers files, and 2 files, with this extra: dep.sisx?

The chinese one doesn't work all that well for me, after putting my details in (I have a non-hotmail email address setup with windows live) it says something like "only available in China" after it logs in.

What connection type you use for this? I use the home Wlan and run OK with a non-(at)hotmail address.

I have used this app successfully in the past, however in the last week I have been unable to login or check my emails....

I'm using Windows Live for Nokia S60 v1.0.6141, which i gather is the latest version....

when I try to login with a @msn.com username, i get

"Sign-In Failure: There was a problem with the Windows Live ID service. Please try again later"

And same crap when I try to synchronize my inbox.... This has been happening for at least a week.

So my quesiton.... Anyone successfully login in with a @msn.com account name? Such a shame as this app is a great addon to the phone.. 😞

ut.

lol I should learn to read,

seems Ronaldo-9 is having the same problem....

Maybe @msn.com accounts are only created outside of china, so they not letting us on.... (pure speculation)..

ut.

yeah bloody sad as it used to work 😞
and why the hell is this app so hush hush, no "official" page anywhere...
double 😞....

ut.

maybe ms feel it aint ready for mass distribution i dunno lol

i was using it for ages till it stopped, most of uni friends are on my msn.com

few others are on my hotmail.com so i used to use fring for hotmail.com and WLM for msn.com

need to switch lol but i installed IM plus and set that as msn.com

I have the same problem. And I can't even install the other app in this thread on symbianv3.com. I have a Swedish Three-branded phone.

superswede wrote:Well, why on earth are you using the chinese version then...?
Surely this ain't the chinese one:
http://www.symbianv3.com/new-windows-live-messenger-perfect

Because N95AR went to great effort to explain what icons to press on the chinese page to get to it, and the URL was an MSN one (therefore more likely to be an official client). I have subsequently removed that version, and the one you link to works ok here in Australia (even with non hotmail address).

Hi all,

I really liked this app and am also not happy happy it has suddenly stopped allowing me to Log in so instead have just created a Bookmark to MSN.com works quite well really but obviously not as nice as Windows Live app, Hopefully they will give it a full release soon.

Well, I've sort of lost the thread here now...
I had no problem installing the package that I've referred to above (= the NON chinese version..) and neither had any problem logging in to it (not using a hotmail account either...).

Have you disabled the "verify certif... online" and enabled "Install programs" in application manger on N95?

@superswede

I am in the UK and it had been working just great and then just keeps on saying you are not able to log-in or a similar message. I am just not that bothered to waste loads of time trying to work out why, others have reported the same so when i see it works for everyone again i will re install until then i can survive without it.

I _can_ install programs in general of course. But do you have a Three-branded phone? I think that's the key. (Also, I use v 11 of the S60 OS, you use v 12.)

Definately cant get this working as it wont sign in. Ive tried several times still no luck anyone else out there with a working version that wishes to share the goods?

go to minhembio.com forum and mobiltelefon & gps then officiell trd nokia n95
page 64 and post 1915 to download msn messenger

i cant post links my first post here

For all of thoose who are unable to sign-/log in (with the NON chineese version which does not work outside china..) =>
Check your IAP settings and make sure to select one which does not have any proxy settings defined.

On mine, which is working fine (..using a non hotmail account to sign in), I have noticed that if I select an IAP with proxysettings (e.g. a WAP configured IAP) I'm unable to login but if a use an IAP wich is configured without proxy it all works well.

And how do we do that?

Do what? How you select IAP or find out whether you IAP's has proxy or not?

Select IAP = Select an IAP which does not have proxy when WLM asks you to choose from one of your defined ones.

View proxy settings on your IAP's = ..tools\settings\connection\access points\ => Select one IAP and press "OK" => Options => Advanced settings => check field "proxy serve address" and "proxy port number".

If all your IAP's has proxy defined check your providers website how to set up one without it OR you can try and simply copy one of your existing and remove what ever IP address that is entered so that it says "None". Also remove any proxy port. Choose this IAP when trying to sign in WLM next time.
