Firmware problems with N95

Hello!

Mobile: Nokia N95 Plum
Operator: 3, Hi3G Access AB
Country: Sweden

Yesterday I looked up a guide at Youtube (youtube DOT COM SLASH watch?v=uN9eRlddfH0&mode=related&search=), how to clear my mobile from Three's (3 Sweden) firmware. I used the program NSS which changes the product code to EURO 1 (didn't know other codes until today when I read them at this forum) and then i downloaded the latest update from Nokia.

Everything worked fine and the stuff from Three was gone. Then I did this misstake, I thought I would be smart and restore my settings (such as some new maps and other display and random settings), so I did it, from the memory card. I didn't "care" that the backup I'd been made was from when I had the old firmware... The phone restarted and I wrote my PIN-code, then I got a message;

"Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer."

Since my father work close to the store here where im living in Sweden, I don't want to ask them to restore it to default, because then this maybe would affect some bussniess stuff between his company and the store or something like that... Anyhow;

How can I make, like, a TOTAL reset? Is it possible? (Or well, it probably is, but if there is any way without any need of remove the scale to make changes in the hardware). Would be wonderful if someone could help me. I got an USB-cable with which I made the change and got acces to wlan at home etc etc, if anything of that would help.

Second question; what type of RFL file do I need to unlock my N95 viaa NSS?

Thank you,
Oscar

Btw, if you got time to help me live, feel free to add Guwd[at]walla[dot]com at msn, cheers 😊 ("You are only allowed to post website or email links after you have made 10 posts or more"😉

To reset the phone, hold down these three buttons '+ 3 Green' while turning the phone on and keep them held until 'Nokia' appears on the display.

By +, do you mean star aka * ? Thanks! 😊

Edit: nvm, it works correctly now, big THANKS!

Just remember, NEVER backup and restore across a debrand or firmware upgrade! And install your apps to the phone not mem card!
