Hi
I've had my N95 for 4 months now. As have most people, i've been pretty dissapointed with some of the phones features. One which (on the most part) doesn't annoy me (apart from the memory issue) is the web browser. I use this pretty much everyday on WiFi on my home network. Needless to say, i was very annoyed when i selected 'start web browsing' and the screen flashed white, then went back to standby as if nothing happened. It now does this every time, but applications such as Ebuddy which require internet still work fine.
It's also getting very slow, taking its time to let you select something in the menu etc. (just the normal menu, the multimedia menu is just a disaster, a button that could have been much better spent).
The phones internal memory is as empty as i can make it, everything is on the SD card.
Its on orange, with the latest firmware, as far as i am aware.
thanks in advance
Joel
I have the same problem and unfortunately the only way to fix it is a full system reset. You will then have to re-install your apps & restore your old settings.
I have got around it for now by installing Opera (an alternative web browser), so I can now browse the web.
But I am going to have to do a full reset before too long because it also won't let you download any files from the web.

Since reset is a very very boresome thing I hate to do,so we'd better no do that if it is not necessary.
Try a soft reset first!
Can't harm anything!
this has just happened to me this morning , done a soft reset nothing. so have done full format and restored some of the apps works fine now
discovered orange have finally released version 10 firmware for it, after installing that, (which is bassically a hard reset) its all working fine again.
This happend to me with firmware 10 and 11 and after that I don't dare to use my web browser for big pages without resetting the cache quite often. (Or I use Opera 4.) It would be interesting to know if anybody has experienced this with fw 12 or if I could "lower my guard" now.
I phoned Nokia about this - about two months ago - and they never had heard of it and only suggested that I turned it in for repairment!

I experienced it with V12.
It happened to me and that is how I discovered
Opera Mini. The built-in-browser did not start, but
Opera Mini worked fine (I used that until 12.0.013
was out).
But now I still use the Opera Mini because I do not
have an unlimited data-plan and Opera Mini uses far
less data than the built-in-browser does 😉
