Just out of curiosity I called my local NSC and asked them about netmoniter � they told me what do you want that for � I said nothing major .. I just want to know if I can have it � they asked me what phone do I have .. I told them 7650 �he said nope sorry .. we don�t have it for 7650 .. we had it for 6210 .. but due to lack of demand we decided not to have versions for other phones �
So I asked ..(out of curiosity again) how much would you charge for placing netmoniter into the 6210 .. and here comes the shocking news FOR FREE!!!?!?!? 😮 I took of my ear piece and jerked the phone and asked them �what .. what did you just said� he said its for free if your phone is still under warranty .. other wise we charge 12 KD .. that�s about USD 36 ???!?!
So I asked once again � what about 7650 .. he said that we don�t have it � but if we did � it would be the same policy .. for free if you have a warranty ..
The moral of the story is � its NOT considered an illegal software in here 😃
Who said that i is illegal software? You forgot to ask your NSC " can I copy it and give it to my friend?" I dont think so. And what happens if you havent got any warranty? How should we know? The moral of this story? Trust us please! 😃

You got a point there ... i thought someone said that it is outright illegal �.but I think that the fact that they sell it for this price �(compared to some other posts which gave figures as high as USD 1,000 or maybe more .. Yes it is! Anyways, why is this Net Monitor so usefull? I mean I had it on my 8210 and it showed just a bunch of numbers that I mostly did not understand or even if did want to know!
You mentioned 6210 and Net Monitor.
First of all 7650's Netmonitor is called Field Test and they don't have it because nokia is not giving it to them. Nokia is selling it as well as it sells the unlocking method of the Netmonitor in their newest phones like 7210, 8910i,etc.)
6210 is one generation back and Nokia drop support of it. You can also unlock it with a 3rd party program like LogoManager, for free. These phones have NetMonitor build in but hidden.
You may also notice that the leaked Field Test for the Nokia 7650 is only working on 3.xx firmwares. Quite outdated. Maybe that's why they made such a major update to the firmware (4.xx).
Also about the people in the NSCs:They are ignorant, they only know some limited things on Nokia's phones which are depended on their level.

Also the reason the price of it is so high is because:
1. It includes the mobile phone.
2. It is meant to be bought by tele companys such as Vodaphone,Orange,etc.
Why do these companies give so much money? Because they want to test the pnones if they work correctly with their networks, especially if they made any changes in the firmware for varius reasons (such as sim locking)

With generation DCT4 of phones Nokia again started to "hide" this option and sell phones with it for big money. But it seems to be available in phones "normally" sold to people - for example, in 6310i. The problem is only in activating it.

NetMonitor bought by Operators for their technicians. I am one of them and I can tell you that is extremely important to us. We can solve serious network problems with NetMonitor. That's why is so expensive.
It's a TOOL for those who can read it what it displays (NetMonitor I mean...).

For me it was more than a tool. (at least in my 6210}
Keeping an eye on temperature as well as the volts was much like watching temperarure and volts of the CPU in my computer (page 20 of Netmonitor). Very helpful indeed.
But there are lots more I didn't discovered (it was like finding new progs/games for my 7650).

The current Field Test for 7650 3.XX was extracted out from a 3650 phone is it?
just for info the netmonitor was extracted from a 7650 with 3.16 version
So if someone has Field Test in their 4.xx, they could be extracted out like the from 3.16.
its practically possible take my word for it, if someone has a working field test in a 4.xx version you can extract it but i havent heard of anyone that has a working ftd in a 4.xx version...
Yes, I think that if a 7650 with fw 4.xx was found with it on, it could be extracted the same way that the one from 3.xx was. No idea how the genius(es?) accomplished this, but I think that the more ppl that say "it is impossible to make it work", the more ppl out there are gonna make sure it does.
Funny thing is most ppl will never have a use for it. The net has always been about getting things that you are told you can't have.

I loaded all the field test files, but it doesn't work. I get the "Bug" logo but the phone just locks up. I followed the readme instructions. Does anyone have this running on a 3650. I need it to survey and test in-building wireless installations.
I got it running on 7650, lots of info, and the installation was a piece of cake. Now only need good documenation to understand what everything is.
How did you get Field test started? You said installation was easy. I had to load 7 individual files into separate folders in the phone. Not rocket science, but it took some time. After all the work I see the "bug" icon but the program never loads. Any suggestions? maybe you found a self installing program.
The illegal distribution of Field Test works only with the Nokia 7650 and Firmware versions 3.xx.
