Symbian has just added a number of new speakers to its Smartphone Show agenda, including a VP of Samsung, the SVP of Freescale, the president of RIM and a director of Vodafone. Full details here, but I think it's safe to predict that there's going to be plenty to see and hear. And if you get into town early, see our own meet!

I'm surprised that RIM now seem to be the main "Event Sponsors". They much be getting a lot of trade from BlackBerry clients on Symbian devices!
Unless there's something more to it of course...
Hope they announce Nokia is buying them.. lol... perhaps not, especially after Nokia splurged on Naviteq. It's been a persistent rumor though.
I am really annoyed that I can't attend this! 😡 But there is always next year! 😊
I'm very interested in s60, and have had a number of devices running it in the past. But I'm not exactly what you would call an 'active member' as most of the time I just read and lurk. Do you guys reckon it would be worth my while coming down to London? Or you reckon there will be a dearth of people who are in the same boat?
The Smartphone Show - like the Symbian scene in general - used to be a more amateur (in a good sense) affair. Over the past couple of years, I've noticed it's become a lot more corporate. The presentations are aimed squarely at members of the industry, and the exhibitors are there to drum up business on a large scale. Anyone expecting to chat with Orange about the latest N95 firmware or to ask Copilot about routing algorithms will be disappointed.
That said, the pub meet is a firm fixture in my calendar. I might even buy you a pint!
