got this response from Mitsumi:-
Dear customer,
Regarding the Nokia devices and their software, we encoutered some
difficulties. Here's what we (and our customers) experienced upto now:
Some Nokia-phones do not propose any search for bluetooth-peripherals
(except for headsets). In this case, you can initiate the bonding from your
PC. Though the phone will sometimes refuse the connection, both devices will
be paired.
The Nokia-Suite will only work with Adaptors of its own brand (e.g. NOKIA).
All different brands will be refused. (not only Mitsumi-devices!)
The solution would be to apply Nokia-Bluetooth-devices, but those are
neither produced, nor for sale anymore!
NOKIA says, there will soon be a new Suite that will finally work properly
with all kinds of BT-Sticks. Unfortunately we can't tell you when it will be
available.

Got a BT but still using IR to backup my 7650.

Damn! I had just managed to make my new Gigabyte BT dongle to work with PC Suite..! Now I guess I'll have to go back to IR... 😞

In fairness to Mitsumi though, their usb dongle works really well - unless I try to connect to PC Suite. I've tried everything to get them to work together but I've given up now.
Nokia produce great phones, but their PC software isn't the best - and they are very slow with updates. They've known that PC Suite doesn't work with certain BT stacks since September 2002.
So don't be too hard on Mitsumi over this one GhostDog 😃
