anything that you regret?
im on 7.24 and think im going to do the switch after the ease at which i did my mates n95 (from 12 to 20!)...
Im not a power user of the device i must admit (ive had last 3 communicators simply because im a gadget freak).
But id like to hear from people what the real world observations are from the update?
the nokia changelog looks impressive, and a-gps should be good. Is the annoying camera shutter thing fixed?
I upgraded to the latest firmware and quite frankly I am yet to see one improvement. Not that I think the previous firmware was bad or anything.
IVe noticed only a couple of things thus far.
1) when scrolling through the backlight brightenesses, it fased back down to setting 1, instead of a sudden dip
2) you can now make presets on the equaliser for the music function ?
3) maps program a bit better, shows data usage realtime...
4) generally feels nicer, seem to get better 3g reception / 3.5g receoption
5) assisted GPS definately working, nice...
as of yet, nothing negative, nothign positive, so worth doing id say. Can pick up more on the download tab now, like dictionaries etc.
and as for google maps, wow, that kicks the nokia maps aplication into touch big time! Although pressing the * key outside reboots the phone (but not the gprs connection lol).
also seem to get different icons for connectivity, another extra little line on the 2 arrows under the ariel symbol... assume this is when it kicks into edge mode, before 3g is available...
Did they fix the bug with the calendar app, in that pressing # for 'today' on the inside screen updates the month calendar, but not the day entries on the right?
Have only had the E90 for a couple weeks so far, and this caused me a mild heart-attack until I realised what was going on 😊 (Thought I'd booked a flight for the wrong day!).
So far my experience with the E90 has been very positive. Enjoyed having all that information to hand (and 3.5g is very fast), as well as easily being able to enter text on the keyboard.

I can honestly say ive never used the calender function...
id actually hate to be busy upto the point where i needed to keep track of appointments 😎
I must re-install quake , did i read somewhere the FPU was turned on with the new firmware, as the frame rate was a bit slow on the internal screen.
