Shhh.... don't tell Rafe I told you this ( 8-) as you know, we do like you to buy software through our Handango-run store, so that we get commission to keep AAS going), but... Handango have one of their 'Free App Friday' offers on today only, giving away the S60 Calendar replacement Papyrus - completely free ! Thought you'd want to know, anyway...
Read on in the full article.
Just tried it out and working perfect on my E65...:icon14:
Wow, it's cool to get something for free. But I don't think I've *ever* had to go through as many steps to actually download a piece of software in my life.
If that's the amount of steps you have to go through to purchase something then it's no wonder that people use torrented s60 software.
There are indeed a lot of steps to take before actually have the .zip on your hard drive
you have to make an account twice and provide your IMEI etc,
Ok I don't mind if they give an application away every friday but if it is only this one time... I really created an account for nothing 😛
It's not for nothing. Papyrus is a great software! 😃 (I should know, I'm developing it hehe)
Nuts, I've already bought this program.
Great. Having just upgraded to an N95, I was missing some decent PIM software.
Nice - I've been evaluating Papyrus and my trial period just expired. Was planning to buy it, but now I don't need to 😊 Hopefully Handango has seen to it that the developers still get compensated for these "free" downloads though?
Word of warning - don't sign up with an email address longer than 30 characters (including all the punctuation) or the registration code they send you won't work. This is because Papyrus requires you to enter the email address again, presumably because it's hashed in the registration code somehow, but won't accept more than 30 characters. (If there are any Papyrus devs - m00gl3? - listening, how about removing that arbitrary limit? 😊)
I still don't have my new E51, but since I need to provide an IMEI number I can't download it now for later use, so I'm losing out on an awesome app (I've used it in the past). Bummer
@heavyduty
You can enter any IMEI you want. 😊
thanks, haven't come accross this site before!
Seems I'm destined not to get it. I have been trying on and off all day. From 2 different computers and using 2 different browsers, but the Server keeps saying that "The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request." HTTP Status 500:frown:
@KamHo
same here, I've been getting server errors, tried to computers
Thanks for the tip. I've been considering trying it. Keep up the good work
I downloaded the app and tried to install the 91.sis (for the 3rd edition phones) on my E90 and all i get is an install error. It says ceritificate not valid. Does any one know how to deal with this please?
woulda never found this if it werent for you, thx for the heads-up 😊
last month it was light notepad wasnt it? and fornthe person who thinks it's a signup for just one app - not true
handango do this every first friday of every month, id expect something from handango for x-mas as well 😊
edit: just thought of pointing out that it works perfect on n93
Great INFO!!I just got my FREE papyrus yesterday!!
Keep it up!
Thanks
OK, I just read Hih's post. I know I shouldn't be asking this, but could someone *please* mail me a version of Papyrus; after all I DID try to download it, until they asked for the IMEI.
Anyone?
