Somehow i dthing this update is being taken too lightly, especially with the long awaited and cool abilities its picked up now. How many european phones have full flash support in its browser? Thats more or less full flash media support right there. Then there are the speed boosts and Widgets support now, all of this impleminented on existing hardware rather than waiting for a new handset.
The coverage isnt as much as it should be. Far less than the other manufaturer's 1.1.3 firmware update that is getting lots of pageviews and yet this N95 8GB update is far cooler.
This is quite monumental and it should be treated as such. Yes it just came out, but that has never stopped the internet wildfire from spreading such news before.
Fully updated here, youtube running fine - this is a huge update, yet Engadget and especially Gizmodo ignore it and harp on about the lame ass iphone!
I am having 1 issue - the '3d' menu isnt working anymore - anyone else got this?
I just hope the FlashLite 3 inclusion hits the N95-1 soon as well - if that's possible.
Upon the release of v20, it was promised v21 would soon (in about a week) follow, with integrated Flash Lite 3...
BTW, is Nokia Internet Radio also included? Does anyone know if the Nokia folks are reading this forum? I've listed a LOT of bugs and easy enhancement ideas in my latest multimedia & streaming-related articles (see the local N95 forum here), could anyone make the Nokia folks read them?

Engadget are covering it:

hi,
What about the power saver bug, showing in landscape? Or should I suppose that is not a bug?
what about n93? does n93 users are going to have this flashlite update too? when?
we want flash browser with real youtube!

I seriously doubt the N93 will receive anything...
Screen saver STILL running in landscape mode. How come? Does Nokia think that is clever or do they simply don't have a clue about this issue?
It still has a problem with the help application giving out of memory errors, even with 80MB free.
Problem only occurs when you have installed a lot of applications, problem has existed on V10, V11 and now V15 firmware.
Come on Nokia fix this issue, its nice having new functions etc, but lets get the basics working as well, I think it is something to do with demand paging as the N95-1 also can suffer from this since its update to V20
Yet more Nokia madness
It appears that basic video editing is back, but now when you click edit on an image it thinks it is an unsupported video clip.
If you want to edit an image you will need to go to the 'all files' section of the gallery and edit an image from there.
Also in the gallery, it offers you the option to set an image as a ringtone !!!, obviously you can't.
UPDATE: ok the gallery bug appears to happen occasionally after playing with the Video Editor, if it happens reboot the phone and it works normally.
just change the product code and you`ll be able to update to v15
Ok how do i install widgets!?
Need me some widgets
There was a N95 with firmware v21 in forum nokia's remote device access, we can only hope that, it gets released.
sadly.. the call log icon problem still not fixed..
every call made is reflected with mobile icon.. not according to home or mobile icon as in contacts
small bug though
Morning Everyone
I don't suppose anyone would know when this version of the firmware will be released to everyone who has a N95 8GB with Vodafone UK?
I'm salivating at the thought of the new firmware....
Cheers David
I've updated my phone to the latest v15 firmware. Then I copied all my old images and other contents.
Whenever i opened the gallery, it opened and closed within a second or two. It's happening again and again. I'm not able to use the gallery at all.
What could be the problem, can anybody know any solution for this?
Rest everything looks same. I dont feel any major change in this apart from Flash 3.
Search is still the same speed for me (i have about 4 gb of data)
Please help.
This is great news! Can't wait til native FL3 comes to E90. Has anyone with the new firmware got the BBC iPlayer (flash version) working? That would be most awesome - even more so if the E90 had TV out.

You will need to reinstall the new firmware. happened to me last time round. Just plug it back into your computer and update the firmware as you were doing it for the first time. Sometimes it doesnt update properly.
Anyone know whether the 3rd party apps are still there? do they get uninstalled? If so is it easy to reinstall them or do you need the original .sis/.sisx file? Thanx
im happy now cause the crappy vodafone application icons that dont work after firmware upgrades are now gone.
the apps are still listed in the app manager and cant be uninstalled but what the heck
Last night, I updated my N95 8Gb to v.15. I definitely saw some improvements, such as better camera quality and the autofocus function at night portrait mode. In addition, my device runs faster and I can browse better flash-enabled sites, like YouTube!
it sucks, im stucked with vodafone with the 10.0.0.21 firmware :'(
Rafe wrote:Thanks Alessandro / biskero - have you got any recommendations for Flash Lite 3 content we can try out in the stand alone player? Or maybe some Flash Lite 3 with the WRT stuff?Nigma - Yes you can go Youtube.com - see the recently added screenshots. To my mind this is better than stand alone as my video viewiing tends to be as I browse.
for flash video content may i suggest xiaoxiaomoviedotcom. try video number 3. it is a flash video of a kung-fu stick man kicking some serious b**t. i have tried playing this before using the flash lite 3 dev edition but for some reason the audio lags badly. will appreciate it greatly if you test it and leave some feedbacl.
Another feature/bug they haven't fixed is in the browser. If you set to full screen mode portrait display is fine giving you a lovely large area to work with but in landscape nothing changes so you still have a good portion of top and bottom covered by status indicators which is just a waste of valuable real estate. Afterall that's the whole point of "full screen"!?
Hi,
Can anyone tell me where i can find that WRT ?????
And how do i play movies from Utube, do you need another player then the realpalyer on the phone ???
Thx for the help............
Robotjoek
Can anyone please tell me if you can now see the messages in your inbox, outbox etc in one line like i did in my n73? I have a n82 so if this update brings back that great function, there's a hope!....
Hi all,
Well besides being really surprised at just how fast this Firmware has come after the last it is a really good update IMO. I haven't noticed any improvement in boot time as it's still about 22 seconds but that's more than fast enough for me. The Gallery speed is definitely much faster and all the thumbnails appear virtually immediately which is obviously a welcome improvement and the search app also now is far quicker to.
YouTube works fine in the Web browser and obviously the ability to see Flash that is used in other sites is also a welcome advantage and the over all speed and response on the whole devcie also appears to be quicker and smoother now.
So far i have only managed to find a couple of Widgets of interest on Mosh the Battery Widget and also a the GSM Network Signal Widget that both look good and work well and am looking forward to seeing what else developer's come up with as i think this has great potential.
It does appear that Nokia really do view the N95 8gb as there Flagship devcie with so many new functions coming to it before any other devcie and can't wait to see what they have in store for us next. What a great start to 2008 from Nokia and can't wait to see what else they have in store for us this year but so far things really are looking good IMO.
Marc
Has there been improvements in camera capture quality, like the N82?
updated my software yesterday but i didnt manage to find the video editor. Any1 can find??

No idea on FL3 in the original N95 - maybe RAM might be a problem?
The video editor in the new v15 firmware is the very basic Merge/cut/title version as seen in the original Nseries devices. Better than nothing though.
