Hi steve, Ive been looking at changing my product code to gain access to this update, but im unsure about something. I know that if you have an operator branded etc hadset yoou can change it to euro1, but my product code seams to be unknown on your list, its 0556218. I live in the UK please help me on what to do. Spoke to stefan from intomobile, he told me to speak to you. thanks.

I have the n95 8gb with version 11.xx as the latest firmware btw. thanks

i am confused between n95 8gb and n82 i have n82 sealed with me here. Want to know if image processing of n95 8gig can be improved by firmware updates? and will nokia do that?

The only thing better on the n82 is the camera flash... Everything else the n95 8GB is better. Bigger screen makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable for a "multimedia computer". Better buttons, better styling etc. I would still say the n95 8GB is Nokia's flagship device and not the n82 which is targetted at those who want the best camera quality for a phone although very marginal against the black beuty. Only better in the dim.

your probably right about that. they would have gived Flash Lite 3 video support and the Web Run Time engine (Widgets) to the n82.

Hi

I did the upgrade to v15 and agree it's much quicker and I like the full flash functionality however even after a full (3 key ) reset when opening up the web browser it does not present previously accessed WAN access points.

Any ideas ?

Rob

its a shame it doesnt work through opera. If i try to access it through opera it throws me out to the standby screen and shuts opera down. I dont use the default browser, so i guess i will stick to emtube as it seems a long winded solution to watch videos on youtube when emtube manages it so neatly and quickly.

I am getting lots of issues with opera now loading or attempting to load web pages then automatically shutting itself down and throwing me back out to standby screen. Anyone else having these issues? They are not sites i have accessed before but they are all mobile blog sites.

Ok half of my opera bookmarks are having these issues. What is going on here. I cant even turn my update back or i would. Darn it, I wish i hadnt done it now, i cant even access my own website via my phone anymore. Think i will head on over to nokia discussions to see if anyone else has had problems.

@Unregistered

It was an upgrade to the browser that added Flash Lite 3.0 to it, so just how would it work using Opera? as that just makes no sense. Obviously it's your choice to make but Opera is just rubbish compared to the Safari based browser and the only browser that is possibly better is the Safari Browser found in the iPhone and that is not just MO but from virtually every review i have ever read. Just what is long winded about adding a Bookmark to YouTube in the browser and then selecting it when you want to watch YouTube?

i have n95 8gb on vodafone here in the uk.i want the new firmware but was a bit scared of debranding the phone....can sum1 tell me how to do it n wat r the risks involved? i have sum apps installed in the phone memory n dont have the sis files for them e.g office 4.5...would they be erased if i updaate the firmware....n would the warranty be void?also on average how long does it take b4 voda's update comes out?thanks

what gives. Werent they going to give this kind of update to the original n95( n95-1). FL3 support in the browser. Firmware v21 is still avalable on the RDA site. I hope nokia has not forgott about us original nokia n95 owners. Steve if you were a betting man do you think we would get this update. Nokia suprise us by giving the n95-1 such a great firmware (v20) when everyone thought we would get screwed over.

OMG the new firmware has screwed up video recording. It doesn't record fluid videos anymore!!!!

It stutters every 5 seconds or so of recording!!!

Does anyone else have this issue? 😞 😞 😞

I'm not alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From Nokia forum people are reporting the same problem. How dare they screw up my beutiful n95 8GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I noticed the video centre crashing straight away but have just used the video camera for the first time since updating and it is now useless!!!!
Stutters and stops/restarts every few seconds when filming.
My phone worked fine before update, now we are going backwards. This is like my N95 in reverse.
Yesterday at this time I loved my N95 8gb, now thanks to the geniuses at Nokia who design the updates I have a phone which switches on quick at the expense of being able to use the video camera and video centre.
Cheers Nokia.

I hadnt realised it was just an upgrade to the safari browser i thought it was something that was added to the phone in general so of use in whatever browser you decided to use. My problem is with the fact that since this update half of my opera bookmarks are now at fault which is obviously directly to do with some portion of the update. I have been using opera in my symbian phones since the nokia 6600. I find it quicker and easier to use point and click and small screen rendering rather than the mouse and full page option of the safari browser. And for me opera is far superior for my needs.

The opera crashes in my v15 N95 8gb as well.. sad, now using S60 browser will just show Not Supported for most file downloads.. Opera was best here and for other things..
Guys, those who were facing jerks while video playback please close rotateme from memory.. that solved my problem

Hi all

After updating to the new firmware, i have a query

"Videos" tab is missing the 3D multimedia medu. (it used to be 7 tabs in the previous one and now only 6 tabs)

And one more thing...
I love taking photography and I have N95 8GB. Is it advicible to sell the N95 8GB buy the N82 for better photos.

Also, I'm realy scared of the Slider and scratches in the camera lens. I already got some scratches with 10 days of use. Whenever i take out the phone from pocket, the slider opens.

Is it realy durable?

Kindly advice me on this friends!

Thanks
Bala

Could anybody tell me, please. is there any improvement in battery life with new firmware?

Folks,

I installed the Nokia Software Updater and tried updating my phone. My current firmware is 10.X and the udpater says that the update available is 11.X. I do not see the 15.x. Any ideas why? Do i have to update to 11.x first?

Thanks,
Pavan

If so this could be your problem - I had similar issues after restoring a backup - I formatted my phone and installed all apps manually....FW is now flawless}

Whenever i take out the phone from pocket, the slider opens - {I have no scratches on my phone - almost 3 months old....it stays in my old N93's pouch in my pocket - try keeping it in an oakley case}

Is it realy durable? - {after 3 months still rock solid}

Kindly advice me on this friends!

Hi,

Im currently using v10 firmware and want to update to v15.

Ive never updated firmware before and I was just wondering some things before I update:

I have the full version of the navigation software with voice guidance, I have read that the tracker is disabled in v15 does that apply with the full version?

Does quick office stay on the phone or does it have to be reinstalled?

And finally is spiderman 3 deleted?

Thanks in advance for replying.

hi eveyone
can any one help me ???? i have a nokia n95 and i forgat the user lock code for it and 12345 doesnt work ,,,
thanks

DONT UPDATE FIRMWARE i did video is not working now ! and will now have to wait years and years for new firmware update will seem like that 😡 when they bring out new firmware they should test all functions before letting it out of the cage

I've upgraded my n95 8gb to version 15.x.x of the firmware and now NSU won't let me reinstall it.
The firmware upgrade was possible only by debranding my phone via the NSS tool. Can someone
please tell me how to revert it to the old firmware or how to convince NSU to let me reinstall the current firmware version? Please, don't tell me that reverting to and older version of the firmware will brick my phone, will damage it, will cause irreparable stuff. I already know that. I'm just asking why does it do that and if it's possible to do it via JAF or fbus cable. I'd appreciate some serious feedback.

I seem to have better luck than some, I copied all my files, format the memory card, then updated from V11 voda FW into V15 generic FW, I get the video tub, video recording is working; that may be because that i tend to install complex program in C (easy steamlined reinstall with some apps later) which gets flashed during updating, and music on E, which gets backed up; In the future, hopefully like on n82, data won't be flashed.

If you want you can get like plastic protectors for the front, back and the lens, google it. If you do treat it as a 500 quid device, you are likely to get fewer scatrch.

this is pure crap.

i followed the installation instructions with the nokia pc suite.
everything seemed fine.

then when i tried to restore from my back up memory...

all my applications started to go missing.
i lost my a chinese-english dictionary which came originally with the phone

my phone cant read chinese anymore

and it keeps popping out "installing" for ages...

i dunno what the hell is wrong with my phone right now...

damn it.

wasted 4 hrs looking through all the threads on v15 and such shit still happens.

would have to waste a trip down to nokia and waste another day getting all my programs back in

bullshit

Ive just got an 8gig N95 (already own a debranded N95 on Ver 20) but i cant seem to upgrade to ver15, ive just put a stock Product code in the phone rather than the one that was there from "3" yet i still cant update to ver15.

Do i need the phone network unlocked before i can update the software?

Spoke to vodafone tech the other day...

The fella reckoned we should be able to get the V15 update by the end of Feb at the absolute latest.

Just like to know if it is possible to run any IRC clients on the Nokia N95 8GB???
Cheers! =)

i have bought some games from the internet. can i back up them before updating the software? the games are protected i think(having the key sign in frnit of it)
