Hi all,
After setting up mobile email on my handset i tested it .....and my phone crashed!! :evil:
Now it only turns on when the batt charger is plugged in!? And it doesnt even boot correctly!! Although the frst nokia sign appears, there is no handshake animation! It then goes straight to a blank white screen with only the battery meter in the top right hand corner showing!?!?
Pressing any buttons at this stage seems to have no affect at all!!
Has anybody else experienced this!? Or got any idea how to fix it!?!

Hmmm....mine used to do that......but are you sure the phone is switching on???...
With my phone off, If I plugged in the charger, it would come up "Nokia", then a white screen, and only the battery bar scolling.
I also had trouble ssitching it on....Id ofen have to hold the "on" button down for 10-15 seconds.......then release, press again.....and again....and again.....then it would eventually switch on......
I currently have a loan-phone, as o2 are replacing my 7650 which was only a few weeks old....
It was

I've always had that problem.
The battery meter thing is normal, thats what it should do when you plug it into the mains. The problem is getting it to boot up.
Let is charge for 5 mins, then keep pressing and holding the power button. My eventually turns on after about 10 goes. Having said that, now that i've switched to Orange it doesnt happen anymore. With my old sim card (o2) it happened all the time. Is there a link i wonder? 😃

If nothing else works,you can try a hard reset but you will loose all user data on the phone.

Just got back from the phone shop where they set a technician loose on it!!
After much jiggery pokery he concluded that it was in fact - as you rightly predicted - a temperamental on/off power switch!!
It seems i too will now have to hold down the button VERY hard for longer than normal! I can live with this for now as the other alternative was a 2 week wait for it to be sent away for repair!
