Voice dialing

Hmmmm, they also say that it has predictive text input (if it does have it on the 'phone side', I don't know how to activate it) - mind you, voice dialling will be available once Digital Red get their new product out (and yes, my suspenders are really chaffing now).

Shows what these dealers know eh? I mean, PCWorld in Swansea sells the 9210 as a phone that runs the PocketPC Operating System.

Now, what has the 9210 done to deserve such an insult!?

On the issue of voice dialling, if you're on Orange (which I doubt since you're across the pond - want to buy some steel User posted image ), you can sign up to Wildfire which is really quite good. More than just an answering machine, it's a calendar and contacts manager as well as someone to talk to when you're lonely.

- it even recognises my broad Welsh accent... myn boio! Tidy! Who's shoes 'em boots!? Where to is my sheep gone now then?[ This Message was edited by TANKERx on 2002-03-06 1903 ]

There will be voice dialing available shortly via two (different) 3rd party applications.

First will be available 18th March from NeuVoice.

I have NEVER fancied voice dialing...
coz u hafta still press at least a keypad to do it (what the...) and also it's kinda difficult to do it when u caught a FLU... User posted image

What I've found with Wildfire is that its no good being polite. You have to shout like Patrick McGoohan in 'The Prisoner'.

Free to go!
Free to go!
Obey me and be free!

Be seeing you!

Hmmm I think may your suspenders are chaffing so much it may be blocking the blood supply to your brain User posted image

Besides the product from NeuVoice, what other company is offering Voice Dialing capabilities?

Thanks.

Digital Red have said it will be part of their 9210 plus program, there's another too, but I cant remember it right now.

Hi, Rafe
Is it out yet? Do you have its direct download point from your website?? I am eager to try it...

i just bought it & uts seems ok..yet have to try it outdoors...but its SLOW , i yet have to keep using task manager to activate it & then press find to be able to speak out the persons name i want the phone to dial & then it responds a bit slowly...i tried to search for the person i wanted to dial & press CALL, the usual way...& believe me its faster.
what i think is that it should be able to run in the background & then when i want to use voice dial, i should be able to just long press the names button or the profines or menu button...& speak. if i have to keep opening the phone, its not much of use for me....its definately of no use while driving.

well anyways its just a start & i was like a baby with a new toy screaming away my friends names at my phones & seeing that its able to dial it straight away.....im yet a bit exited...let me go try some more...wwwhhhheeeee..... User posted image

Ok Just added on to this one again!
It does not let you select number for wich you have a speed dial selected???
Now thats odd![ This Message was edited by KayonLord on 2002-04-06 1844 ]

Right first you do a find to get to the person you wanna contact.

Then you press the action button (So much for hands free) the say text, mobile etc....

Only thing is if you have a speed dial (By far faster than neuVoice) you cant use that number???? What a pain!

Hope version 2 better so far i dont recomend this unless u really just wanna show off that you got cool voice controll of phone!

On their site they say u can do this while driving???? How????

I got a car kit and you cant start the rec system from the front (phone side), plus all the ppl i call alot are on speed dial, nice and esay for car kit (But no voice print sniff! Oh well!)!

Wonder what Digital Red's is gonna look and work like?

Ops that all sounds so neg!

Though i would just like to add the actual voice rec works lovely!

Indoors and out!

Also with a bunch of ppl making noices in the office with me!

Very nice job their and i think thats most prob the hard part, the interface should most likely come along soon!

TaTa till later!

I'd be impressed by a text-to-speech tool. Yes, I would y'know. That would impress me. Aye, I'd say "My! That's impressive is that and not half bad either".

If someone were to release a text-to-speech tool, I'd be impressed.

Just downloaded and played with Voice Control (from my-communicator.com)

Very nice app!
Low on mem!
Quick and easy to setup what you want as well!

Will give more feedback after i play with it for a day or to, unless some1 else beats me to it!

re voice control -- do you encounter problems if you have 2 or more voice commands stored? coz i do have problems. i think it's a bug.... User posted image
