I have an issue with my new N95 8GB.I am currently using A-GPS with Nokia Maps V2 & normal GPS lock-on takes forever but with A-GPS its like 30 seconds+ but the problem sometimes it doesn't work...I wait & wait and nothing happens so I exit Maps & look at my Log and see that no data was transfered.I know that A-GPS uses some data to get your location faster. But why on a couple of occasions is no data transfered? My network provider settings is working perfect with Opera Mini,Gmail,Worldmate etc... When the A-GPS lock-on is quick some data is transfered,I can see by the Log screen, uses like 5kb odd.
N95 8GB A-GPS Issue
Might sound like a daft question....but do you have network coverage when this happens ?
yes I do...soon after I see that no data is transfered with A-GPS,I use some other app that uses network data & it works perfect...
I'm having exactly the same problem on my N95 classic, pretty sure its since I upgraded to v20 😡
Check your AGPS server address.
go to:
Settings - phone settings - general - positioning
Under positioning server, check the server address is
supl.nokia.com
Exactly that, no www.
Also check your access point in the positioning server is correct for however you connect to the internet. i.e. your networks connection settings.
And in positioning methods, you want
Assisted GPS and
Integrated GPS
both ticked, and no others.
I have the same problem I check all parameters but no data is send for the A-GPS.
An other idea to fix the problem ??:con?
Can you send other data, like connect to the internet, etc?
If you have all those settings correct, all I can say is just check your network access points.
access to internet is ok
Download satelite maps is working
I check all parameters (supl.nokia.com...).....
Hargs48 since 28/02/2008 do you find a solution ??:con?
If things like this happens after a firmware update, the alarm named 'old backup restored' goes off right away.

what I do now is: find a good place outside, open my GPS Data app and let it search for like 3/4 mins, cold start, checking the Satellite Status in the sub-menu...and will till I have a signal...the I open Nokia Maps and it locks on in like 5secs...no need to go online with A-GPS...
anybody know of a better suggestion perhaps...:con?
