or any other vodafone s60 device

Try this guy, he only charges £10

Link removed, you can get it done for free now, read on in the thread below.......

I ordered my code on Sunday night and he emailed me 10 minutes later to tell me that because he wasn't at work Monday I wouldn't get my code until Tuesday

True to his word the unlock code arrived this morning (Tuesday) and worked perfectly.

Certainly the cheapest unlock service for S60 Devices I have seen, great communication as well.

EDIT.... http://www.n95users.com/forum/general-95/9979-vodafone-uk-free-unlock-code.html#post84545

Vodafone will only unlock for free after 12 Months, unless you come to a special arrangement with them.

Also once you have unlock a phone from Vodafone directly, they will no longer do a doorstop swop if you have a problem with the handset, you have to take the phone to a Nokia Service Centre, at least that was what I was told friday when I rang 191 for an unlock code.

Nope, as long as your on a contract, you can get it unlocked for free. They have changed it since that was posted, people have had it done. Should have done the FIT35 thing, they are always more uptodate.

As I said when I rang them on Friday, Vodafone said that I would have to pay to unlock my N95 8GB as it was under 12 months old

They did unlock both my N80 and 6280 free of charge though.

I love that they play it like that, it's not a gesture it's them admitting they've been rumbled and ponying up the money they should never have charged you. If I steal a tenner out of you wallet, you would hardly call giving it back a 'gesture of good will'!

God I hate the way these bastards do business

Just rang Vodafone for my unlock code and was told that I would be charged for it. Luckily I was able to quote "Tom" from their forum website given above and I was given the unlock code for FREE.
So thanks guys...and anyone else trying this in the near future I would recommend sticking to your guns as Customer Service's don't seem au fait with this yet. 😊

Normally I would agree with you, but Vodafone didn't charge me, I paid 10 to a guy on Ebay for my unlock code, Vodafone credited me 10 because I was given the wrong information when I phoned up to ask them about an unlock code.

I rang up Vodafone this afternoon and they gave me my unlock code for free without trying to charge me, excellent 😊

Yes, Vodafone is providing unlock codes for their customers. People can go get it. After getting the unlock code you can visit http://www.mobileunlockguide.com/ This site provides free unlocking instructions. This could help in understanding the unlock process better.
