Princess Mononoke was damn good. Ghost In The Shell, Macross Plus (an OVA yeah but may as well be a film), Blood The Last Vampire, Patlabor 1&2, Akira (for the ultimate brain scrambling), and I'll slap Orguss 02 in the too.

My favourite at this time is 28 DAYS LATER. I just loved the old zombie movies and this one is much more realistic......THE BEST

Akira is actually a good film, took me 3 attempts to work the plot out roughly, 4th attempt I thought I had it nailed.
The Rurouni Kenshin movie isn't all that hot, it's just like an elongated TV ep. The OVAs on the other hand are amazing. The best one is based before the tv series and describes how be becomes the Battousai and why he becomes a Rurouni after. The other is based after the tv series and made little sense to me, although I still have the last 7 eps of the TV series to watch to have seen every RK anime made. Well "isn't all that hot" is a disservice, it's as good as the TV series, but the OVA's better.
