Would sound like that is the case! SWEET!!

No limit but also, if you are on a £35+ tariff you can get this bolt-on for free! Not automatically though so make sure and ask for it! That's the mistake I've been making for the past 2 months!

Yep, I got this for free on my £30/mnth contract when I upgraded last month.

I have to say, unlimited 3.5g in London has been pretty sweet the last month!

i questioned about the limit because there was definately a 200mb limit up until recently.

I remember the post about how can they call it unlimited when its 200mb. Reply was-

Hello Liam, Thanks for emailing us about the O2 Unlimited Web Bolt On. Please be assured that there is no fair usage for the O2 Unlimited Web Bolt On. All the tarrifs changed on 1st Feb. There are a range of £7.50 bolt-ons, one of which is the unlimited data. If you get a minimum £35/mth tarrif, you can choose one for free and add others for £7.50 each.

I just rang retentions at the end of my 18mnth contract (conveniently on Feb 1st!) and told them I was leaving to go to 3. They gave me a free N95 8Gb, 500 mins, 600 txts and unlimited data bolt on for £30/mnth = )

Looks to me like they have replaced the 200mb fair use limit with something more vague. Would be interesting to know what they class as adverse impact, they say in there T&C that you cant use VOIP or continuous streaming (how long do they count as continous?).

I have a 35 contract on o2 which I took out last August for 18 mths.

Would I qualify for the free unlimited web bolt on?

If so, how do I phrase it when I ask for the free bolt on?

I want to make sure I get it if I am entitled to it.

Just phone them up and say you'd like to add the free unlimited web bolt-on as you understand you qualify with your current tariff. Was absolutely no problem when I did this, in fact it might even have been the call rep that put me on to the idea!

Darren

I wonder if it would still apply even though I have a staff / friends discount on my contract.

When I took out my contract, I had a friend who worked in an o2 shop and gave me a discount on a 35 contract.

So I don't actualloy pay 35 a month, although it is a 35 contract.

dog-man

Yes, I agree!

I was only aware of the 1mb monthly allowance and hardly use it as I am worried about going over the limit.

Most months I don't use any of the allowance as I am concerned about a large bill arriving.

dog-man

Unfortunatly does not apply to me on a 12 month contract @ 35,need to be on a 18 month contract to get the free bolt on,costs 7.50 a month otherwise, only changed tarrif start of feb too.........

i got stung for 70 quid dl'd my emails

Yep,my first bil was over 60,didnt think email browsing would use so much data, charge max of 1 a day,so if you browse the net and read emails every day thats a poss 30 extra a month on top of your bill,in that case the 7.50 bolt on for unlimited downloads is a very good idea......

Well, after initially being refused because I was on a lower than 600 minutes contract, I was given it when I informed them that I had a 750 minute contract.

It will start from next billing date.

Mind you, I had to give up my long weekend free calls bolt on as you can only have one free bolt on.

It won't affect me as I never get anywhere near the 750 min limit anyway.

Can I just ask for confirmation that anything web wise will be free?

IE: if I am using the sat nav part of my N95 and I allow it to connect, I assume I won't be billed if I have the free unlimited web bolt on?

That's correct! :icon14:

WOO!!! Thank you so much for making this thread!!!

I didn't know I could have a free bolt on (I have a £35 a month contract 600mins 1000 Unlimited texts). Phoned up and now have "unlimted" (200mb) Web downloads starting from next month!!!

Im now not restricted to using the Wireless at my house or work and can do MSN and browsing anywhere!!! =D

Thank you!!!

Are you sure it's still only 200Mb? It should be truly unlimited now......

J-Ho wrote:Are you sure it's still only 200Mb? It should be truly unlimited now......

Definatly 200mb. He said to me its 200mb before I even asked. And I said on the O2 website it says unlimited and his reply was that

"If you use the internet on your handset it will be quite hard to reach the 200mb. But if you connect your PC to your phone to go on the internet there is a good chance you can go over that", thats what he said to me today.

Thanks for posting this, i'm gonna ring up tomorrow and get it added to my account 😊
If it is 200Mb limit then they really shouldn't call it unlimited, or at least put that figure in the terms&conditions!

It is unlimited as long as its used only on your phone,if you connect your pc to the web through your phone then its not valid and they can cancell the bolt on.....

I think you'll find those classic words..."Subject to fair use policy" somewhere in the terms and conditions 😉

Oh great. They can do that, but they weren't willing to try and save me when I threatened to leave cos I wanted IMAP on a PAYG GPRS connection. This bolt-on sounds too good to be true though. The last I checked it was a 200mb limit. Guess they changed it cos of web and walk.

Obviously the best thing to do is each month (when your texts and minutes are full again) reset your Packet Data to make sure you dont go over the 200mb limit...
