7 Digit Postcode Search Stopped Working

7 replies · 2,747 views · Started 12 March 2008

When I first got my N95 8GB a couple of months ago 7 digit postcode searches worked. Some time in the last few weeks the system seems to have started to only search on 4 digit codes. I have "Allow network access when required" enabled and I haven't upgraded my maps since I first loaded them.

In the Nokia forums several other people seem to be having the same problem and the consensus seems to be that the problem is at Nokia's end. Is anyone here experiencing this problem?

Ian.

Yes, and the general search doesnt seem to work properly anymore either. I wasted my 3 day trial due to this, as its an issue with the beta maps as well as version 1.

So far I havent seen a fix, and people have gone so far as to hard reset the phone, and someone even did a firmware update. All to no avail, so it has to be nokias end. I dont know how though, guy in the same office has it working fine on his N95 8gb.

And its definatly connecting fine to the network.

Blimey. Now you come to mention it, yes, I've had this on my N95-1 for a few weeks now. To get an accurate location, I now have to enter both the postcode and street address.

Its annoying to say the least. I will not be paying for any maps subscription until nokia sort it out, thats for sure.
