Upgrade N95 8gb or N82?

Can someone tell me which one please - can't decide. Previously owned an N95 - not sure about the smaller screen on the N82 or the side speakers.

Having used both recently, each phone is equally good in matters concerning speed, reliability and functionality. The spec diffeernces between the two are minimal, and I would suggest the deicison comes down to a form factor choice overall.

Having used the N95, if you like the slide design, then stick with the N95 8GB, if you prefer candybar go for the N82. In my opinion there is little to choose between the two in other areas.

Id say the same, almost word for word. :icon14:

Thanks all for your opinion - have decided on the N95 8gb as I think I am going to be happier with the larger screen and better key pad.

The N82 does have Xenon flash though - if you are likely to take lots of photos in less than ideal light, that might be something to consider.

Thanks. I did consider that but that I think the screen won me over plus I like the look of the N95 better and have been happy with my N95-1

I currently have an N82 and N95 8GB and am trying to decide which to keep.

Cons

N82:
Smaller Screen.
No pen (edit) key.
Charger port on the side.
Still waiting for a major firmware update(cant be long now) including Flashlite 3 and WRT support.
Media key is in a stupid place and directional pad isnt as good as N95.

N95:
Due to larger screen @ QVGA Res it looks a little washed out.
No external memory card - 8GB is a perfect capacity but the transfer rate is terrible.
Despite the BL-6F, battery life isnt fantastic for a power user.
No camera protection.
Low light camera quality poor
GPS reception only when slider open
Headphone socket on the side is inconvenient and pretty senseless.

Pro's

N82:
Camera is outstanding, by far the best picture quality from any camera phone available now, I think there is improvements in picture quality across all conditions but in low light it is just sensational.
Memory card slot is better than internal mass memory.
Battery life seems to exceed N95-1 and 8GB.
GPS conditions are better due to no slider.
Smaller 2.4" screen made for QVGA resolution and looks crisp.
Finally the headphone socket is on the top of the device.
Number keys look like they would be difficult but are very tactile.

N95 8GB:
Larger screen a bit easier on the eye at time (especially if you are old :rolleyes😊.
It has the pen/edit key.
It has the update to include WRT and Flashlite3 support.
Better menu, multimedia and directional keys than the n82

As you can see from my personal opinion the N82 is my prefered device. As a converged device it is much more convenient than the N95-8GB with the headphone socket in the right place, its smaller and thinner, it has an amazing camera and it will last me up to the time that Nokia release a monster of a phone that sets a new standard in the way the N95 did when it was first released.

It is down to opinion and most N95 users I think would either stick with it or naturally progress to the 8Gb model but the N82 is a powerful and amazing phone in what I think is a quite tidy candybar form!
I am suprised that networks havent learnt from the sucess of the N73 and snapped up the N82, its value for money is another very strong point!

Garmin Mobile 10 XT runs fine on my N95 8GB. Not come acroos anything that wont. The N95 just see's it as mass storage, the same as a memory card.
