I have debranded / upgraded several N95-2 8GB using NSU
In each case before updating, I have backed up phone and mass memory using Nokia PC Suite version 6.85.11.8
So far I've had no success in preserving the Spiderman Activation Key
I now have another Vodafone UK branded phone waiting for debranding / update.
Is it actually possible to debrand / update and keep the activation key?
If so, please give the definitive meyhod

I did a backup and restore and it worked fine. However, I was using the N-Series PC Suite.
I got my N95 8GB with v11. Took a backup straight away so I could always go back and restore the SM3 key. Or so I thought...
Now I am running v15 and there is no way I can restore the backup and still have a working phone. After reboot it hangs and tell me to get support. I have tried using both the branded and the 'clear' product code but it makes no difference. SM3 is gone...
Im having this problem too i done a soft reset on a n95 8gb i bought so i could start from scratch & i seem to have lost spiderman altogether, so how do i get it back or have i lost it for good?
It's just a movie... How many times are you going to watch it over and over again? Just buy the DVD or download it from the internet somewhere if you love it so much.
If you really want to keep it, it seems that backing up with the Neries PC Suite will work. This just from reading other people's posts though, I don't have a N95 8GB myself.
It isn't about the movie. Far from it. I couldn't care less about this movie and I will never watch it. It's the principle! 😊 They advertize it, I buy it, I want it! Besides I have lost other paid for stuff too, because it is impossible to back up the reg keys. I will never pay for any music or other DRM cr@p for my phone, until this problem is solved.

maybe you could try and just copy the Key file to you pc not as a back up with pc suite, just like you would with normal file .you will need to find it 1st with a 3rd party file browser/manager which will allow u to explore most files in your memory
Yes, with the new hack available, it should be possible. But I have no clue what file name you should looking for and only the few owners who haven't upgraded yet can try this. So it's now or never, guys 😊
I just downloaded the movie, installed it after converting it to the correct format, job done.

It is not so much the movie. The same happened to me. I had not yet watched the movie. But since it came with the phone, I technically purchased already; why would I need to purchase it again. So why the one person made that stupid comment, I do not know. But the movie is not the problem we are addressing here.
It does not seem right that because Nokia software does not work and the company does not want to do anything for the people who got the shaft as a result.
The least they could do is provide a warning that everything including your saved data, music, movies and everything that came with the original phone will no longer function as soon as you "upgrade" the software.
Before downloading the update it should say something like:
Warning, all of the functionality and everything you bought with the phone will no longer function as advertised as soon as you update and no one at Nokia will lift a finger to help when this happens so don't bother contacting us.
Now that would be truth in advertising.
