im not on v21.
waiting for NSU to show me I can update as I dont have too much time to get v21 on the hard way.

i stand (or sit) corrected. just checked via NSU and its showing v21 !

Now I just need to know what will be deleted ....

Geez, this Widgets application on my N95 8GB is f***ng (sorry) slow! I can't even use it, it is so slow. Anybody got the same issue?

i was very nearly going to update until i remembered route66 v8 is on there and still working. my updating will prob stop v8 working anymore.

can anyone comment on this please ?

Got them frm mosh.nokia.com just put widget in the search bar

would someone explain how to install these, and how to get them working after install

thanks Stu

Just unpack the .zip file then extract the files, click on a .wgz file and it will instal like a normal app, the apps icon will be in the menus applications folder.

I am a bit confused with this matter. Could anyone explain what would we expect with this new firmware version ( V21) regarding widgets? How it works and so on, I am not sure about how it should works.
Cheers

Just download the files i posted in this thread and instal the individual widgets, they instal just like normal apps but use webruntime to run

so is it worth it? how fast are the widgets? i heard that they can be slow. also isnt this just hte same as using the regular browser RSS feature?

Could some kind enough to explain the different between Widsets and Widgets? Not the "S" and the "G" please.

WidSets is an app into which you can load certain modules like RSS readers, search boxes etc. WidGets are stand alone, flash-based, apps which you can install and run directly on v21 (classic) or v15 (8Gb) firmware. Mostly the same kind of things are available for both, things like news tickers, RSS readers, search pages etc.

I have also R66v8 installed:

After the update, I'd to execute the R66v8-SIS again, and it worked again . . .

The SIS-file I executed, is on the DVD-ROM 😉

It seems the widgets we have at the moment are pretty pants really. I was thinking of having a go at writing one which will connect to the live feed on my webcam, so I can check it anywhere.

Now that sounds epic 😊

Like Orb?

I suppose, except the live feed camera(s) I'm going to be setting up will be on a Linux box. AFAIK the Orb PC software is only available for Windows machines.

Have upgrade to V21 but I dont see where I can start using Widget/Web Runtime. Please help. I am on APAC product code.

I don't think you see the "option" anywhere. You just install the widgets like applications. See earlier in this thread for a ZIP file with some examples in it.
