Here's a link to some actual shots of the SE P800 - www.telefonino.net/cgi-bin/news.asp?n=5686
Enjoy!
It's about time the Psion/Symbian OS rules.
Real Photos of SE P800
And wasn't it Micro$oft who said that there are no Symbian products?
Hehe! Bill must be pooping his pants right now, I mean, Nokia, Sony-Ericsson and Samsung? They're not mobile phone lightweights now are they?
Let's just hope they're marketted well and realistically priced.
Thanx 4 the pix link Fe3+!
Screen size is real good on the Sony - based on proportions of device-in-hand - v ergonomic...Rather than a mathematical sub-division of a PC screen which Microsoft has used for its mobile devices like the Pocket PC (it's logical, but not optimised for *hand*held use! BTW, I think part of Palm's original sucess was choosing a good screen size which works in-the-hand 160x160.
the p800 looks good, but the only thing that all these phones lack & what the nokia has is a KEYBOARD. i've used a palm & its just not as fast as a keyboard.
the integrated camera is a god idea, i really love the idea to be able to capture pics & video on it. Now if the camera could be rotated u would have a 3G phone with video phone capability...next step i guess.
Do u think this phone has the same Fax capability as in the 9210 & the 9110, i mean can u receive it directly on ur phone & view it on the screen itself?
ciao

Yeah. I love the Communicators keyboard! Im pretty fast on it now too - its awesome for entering data. Don't think I could convert to pen and tablet format.

I have to say the one thing that really annoys me is when I read in reviews that the 9210 is massive and way too big.
My 9210 is just back from repair, so for the 3 weeks it was away (*) I had downgraded to the 9000i. And I have to say I still think the 9000i is the perect size for a phone. My thoughts on the 9210 were along the lines of "it's way too small and delicate."
In general I thin phones at the moment are WAYYYYY too small and I welcome the 7650 and P800 getting a sensible size back on the market.
(*) Please note that it wasn't a standard repair, I own one of the 'Prototype' 9210's so it can't go in to the normal repair pool. Besides, being FreEPOC it was a freebie in exchange for some of the newer Vexed levels...
Yeah - isn't it annoying when people say the 9210 is a "brick". Considering it's a clamshell PDA with a keyboard, it's not going to be the size of a Nokia 8210!
I'm begining to discover the downside of an all in one phone-PDA though - I still like my 9210, but now I want a more up to date 'phone' cos the 9210 phone hardware is quite old now 😞 I might end up in the crazy situation of using my 9210 as a PDA and getting a new small phone :-? Oh well, just a thought...Having two devices does after all have its advantags because phone technology seems to move faster than PDA tech. Having said that, I guess I couldn't get a mobile phone and PDA for the same price as a 9210 anyway.
The point is, people ain't going to buy 'smartphones' if they perceice they will be 'obsolete' so rapidly.
i think most people that said 7650 is a brick are SE fans and when they said 7650 and p 800 is a brick they are people who can't even afford to buy a nice phone with new features

I beg to differ .... Big is big and size does matter .. if you compate Palm M515 and Compaq H3970 with 7650 and P800 .. then yes ... 7650 and P800 is bit bulkier ... I mean the depth ... But I have my 7650 and Palm M505 ... I stop using My 505 and prefer 7650 because its more interesting
and new 😃 but its bulkier compare to M505 ..... The massage here ACCEPT the reality ... don't just MOCKING others around...... 😃 😃

Well, I own an iPaq 3870 and had a T68i. Now I use my iPaq with a 7650. The 7650 is indeed a brick compared to the T68i, I can't deny that. But the question is: is that a bad thing? I think the ergonomics of the 7650 are great and I couldn't imagine having 7650 functionality with a smaller screen. I would go mad! But is just is a big phone, that's a fact.
The 9210 is just too big for me. And what others said before: mobile technology moves too fast. I couldn't imagine using my iPaq without a mobile GPRS connection anymore! It saves a great amount of money and is a lot faster
